credential is very important.i admit it. but i would say if that person had a theme to bring along i would say its good work.
in the past build has done simple design that carried alot of theme. due to his credential.

I think minimalism is about knowing the maximum, and stripping down from that point.
knowing:

Its pretty good that a coloured circle can cause so much debate.

Well, it does cost money.

Very interesting.
I like pretty much all of Michael’s previous work, that have been for sale, and not.
He has without a doubt been an inspiration to me into designing things into its simplest form, but at the same carrying a lot of weight of data behind it.
If that makes any sense.
The TimeCode series was brilliant, and this is another series I see that strikes a chord with a lot of people.
Yes, the idea is inherently simple at a quick glance; but looking past the “dot” I do see a lot more.
A specific colour that is used to represent the given subject, the mathematics behind using a specifically sized circle against the sizing of the subject itself; all brought about in his unique way of informative without being over-bearing.
It invokes thought from a distance and up close; or it invokes first impressions which can not be looked past I guess.
All in all, I like the concept very much.
Though at the same time I do feel the “Death Star” does detract from this particular grouping.
The sun is already present, being a star in itself (not man-made of course [or sci-fi made]).
Apparently I’m delving too deep into this, but I view the group as follows:
Sun, Earth, Carbon, Pence, Death Star.
Where as the Sun gives “life” to the Earth which is the planet most of us live on (ah thank you), and we are connected loosely but undeniably through the Carbon atom.
Here I we use the pence to give life to ourselves on Earth as a means to do what we want to do.
...
And I guess that is to make Death Stars, hahaha.
Shrug.

i admit, the poster is a little bland, considering his other work, but then again, it's build.
also, my reply to this:
". well that's just lazy, and missing out on the best part. the printing is half the fun. hydro does the same thing.. I don't get it. but whatever, its your world.

outsourcing is the easies solution when you are busy with client work. if you have time to silk screen your own stuff, great, but i don't have the need or desire to do it myself, and i'm guessing build is just as busy.

i can dig it.
we are all busy with client work tho.
guess some people just get a bigger kick out of screen printing their own design. it usually takes about an hour a color.. oh the horrah

"Interpretation is the revenge of the intellect upon art"
in all serious - i dont think alot of you guys have quite "grasped" it.
maybe that is because build hasn't elaborated on his thought process behind this particular series, here on NT, or on his site (as far as i could see) and hell, he doesn't have too either! although I would be interested in hearing
I wonder if he hasnt been influenced by colour meditation theorys and the like ?
