(Feb 26 07, 10:14)Actually, due to the nature of the beautiful Cyclus Offset stock that the posters are printed on, the Sun does appear to have sun spots. ;)

."Cyclus Offset": that's a great name to print planets on.

I like the posters, I was making fun of JSK's comment that no one had thought of circles before

I'd have to see one up close before I'd buy one... One of the hardest things to do in screenprinting is pulling a nice even solid tint... It may look easy but it can drive you mad. I'd also like to see the paper up close did they do multiple pulls on each circle building on top of each circle to get a nice texture/separation from ink and paper... In other words I'd just like to see one up close to see what makes it special.

love the posters btw..the simplicity of the shape and color versus the complex idea of the "scale" information on each is a beguiling paradox.

I didn't know they were screen prints.
I've done screen printing. It's very easy to fuck it up, I had a lot of respect for my tutor.
I'd have to see the prints in person to form an opinion. See if they got the finish nice and smooth, no shitty splodges on the edges.

I don't get it, people aren;t allowed to dislike it or...?

I don't see that much hatin, to be honest--most said they liked them

it's good that people don't like things and can speak about, that what makes the forum so great.
sorry to quote again but..

Though printing yourself is a nice idea and i love the craft of it getting the time to print 250 posters I imagine is something beyond a lot of designers time. Other clients might get a little pissed off, business to run and all that.

you need balls to go zen, that's a fact.

Some people knocked the idea of talking about why you like something yesterday, but again here, 15 people mentioned that they like the idea of the dot posters and nothing else was said. Rather than spluttering playground arguments about money and art and colour choice, why not question their worth in the first place? What is being said? What context does it come up in? I'm not being a picky bastard here, I just think the lack of talk on this side of design is a gaping hole. It's no less important.
