My agency did it.
They said they wanted a "ogotype"
for V-day.

i just entered googe into the urbandictionary as meaning 'to alter your logo in a tacky manner to fit a seasonal celebration'
waiting for approval

It's that one little mistake that'll getcha.

you know, I noticed that last night, but oddly enough, I just didn't care.

"I just know that those with true romance and poetry in their soul will see the subtlety immediately"
what a jackass, nice try though.

Beautiful, just beautiful.

That’s the second most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
The first being this plastic bag I saw being whisked aimlessly, but with purpose, around in the air by the wind.

it's their christmas logo.
no "L".

wow i've been on googe like 20 times today and had yet to notice that.
their branding has worked its way into my subconscious, or something like that.
- lvl_130
i'm sure it was intentional. they could forget any letter in their name (maybe not the G) and people would still read it as google.
- Point50
damn, and they go on and basically admit that they fucked up (with some bullshit poetic crap), yet don't want to do anything drastic, like, oh, correct it? Stupid. I like Google, but I hope someone is getting jumped in the that lavish cafeteria of theirs right now.

Thinking about the google logo
The Google logo is successful branding by repetiton. It could have really been anything. The fact that so many people visit the site everyday and all they see is the logo and an entry field. You can't help but see it a few times a day. I can't think of any other logo I see more on a consistent daily basis. I see the apple logo everyday but only once when I start up my machine.
I personally dont like the logo but I think it serves them well. It is a little naive looking but that helps them seems friendly and small, even though they pretty much control the whole world. If they rebranded now everyone would think they had sold out and may end up resenting them.
PS I always thought it was funny that if you split the word google you get 'go ogle'. It's almost like they're willing you to look at porn!

Oh man, my boss made a mistake of showing me a newspaper article about Google’s offices that they have in Pittsburgh, hahaha.
They are like that everywhere (lavish, and without me being the asshole at work who makes fun of everyone while doing actually no work).
