the monetary amount in my checking account can be but is not directly related to how smart i am.
how does being broke give you an excuse for anything, especially ignorance?
i'm sorry this is america, you can learn to do what i do for profit for free at the public library, everyone knows that
if someone can't take the time to better life for themselves, how can george bush make them happy by buying them another house (or whatever) they won't take care of?
i will never respect the lazy.
it wasn't a jab, just a comparison. you are narrow visioned on many things, you may not be narrow minded, however, you don't display that through your posts
again i still respect you but it seems we are on two sides of the fence, and why would i put you on ignore? there'd be no conversation then ;)

Not everyone is as smart or educated as you or I, you understand that right?
Ever hear the phrase "someone has to dig the ditches"?
Well, ditch digging jobs pay for shit.
Nice way to make it personal, though. That was pretty cool of you.
- mrdobolina0
yeah sorry kona, the ninth ward was like park avenue.

kuz
the cold is alleviating the pain, like ice would, so use ice, the water being forced into the skin expands the cells and adds to the blistering. any blistering is a second degree burn. however without the use of water you will notice that blisters do not grow as large or last as long, possibly never needing drained or popped
thanks grandma ;)

dobs, if you are going to sit there and tell me that they were doing/getting all they can because of their lot in life, you are more racist than you even realize.
i would love for some quote unquote gang banger kid to drop the gun and drugs pick up a book and school me in php, fucking love it
but your statement makes it sounds like its not even an option for him. you should know better. wtf?

thanks... justin is it? guessing that's your name, thanks Justin, thats valuable information.
- version30
kuz, ice in a bag, or a cold compress, just ice on the skin would defeat the purpose of not using water ;)
- version30
yep justin

so everyone is born with the exact same shot in this country, v4?
I disagree.
Not sure why you are so hell bent on this racism stuff. There were plenty of broke white folks down there too. Poverty is not a racist.
- version30
let me change my ignorant statement of racist to elitist and reread everyone of my posts then rick

I was specifically talking about how the response of the government wasn't fast or good enough. Not everyone can get out of a state easily. Obviously if this happens again it's more their fault because they didn't listen once more, but the first time is different. That's when your government should be there right away.
- mrdobolina0
not everyone is born with the same shot in this country, all I am saying.

I'm not backing any conspiracy theory, but racism is alive and well in this world. New Orleans is a city where racisms has a very strong presence. Even at Mardi Gras where people appear to be full of brotherly love, the lines are drawn very, very strong. Socio-economics and class system play a huge role down south and the post hurricane events are indicative of those systems. I'm not saying that circumstance played a huge role in how a lot of this was portrayed, but let's be real, if that shit happened in NY, LA, Dallas, Chicago would it have really taken that long to begin evacuating the citizens?
- mrdobolina0
now why dont you guys go ahead and tell point5 he is full of shit?
lord knows none of you will.
- komkrktprod0
exactly Jaline.
We pay taxes in America so that we have services like FEMA and so on. Hearing people say things like "blame it on the mayor of New Orleans"... "Why didnt they send in New orleans city buses"... etc is moronic.
Who is going to drive those fucking buses?
If you want to really put a face on this tragedy, look no further than the President's Mother on how out of touch these people are.

"What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas.Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this [she chuckles slightly]is working very well for them."
-----------
Racism is alive and well in this country and if you don't think so, you're probably white.

" I'm not backing any conspiracy theory, but racism is alive and well in this world. New Orleans is a city where racisms has a very strong presence..."
^ very ture.

rebuilding to standards as (almost) as shoddy...
and fyi, it's messicans doing 90% of the work.
- k0na_an0k0
Actually, the more 'common sense' statement would be racism is alive and well in this country by all races and all creeds against all mankind.
You almost had me until you slapped the 'u republicans' label on the thread.
Want to add butter to burned hands?...
"Recently, Spike Lee, perhaps the most openly bigoted director in Hollywood, popped back into the news. He criticized director Quentin Tarantino for his "excessive" use of the word "n*gg*r." "29 times in Pulp Fiction and 38 times in a new movie, Jackie Brown," said Spike Lee.
"Be warned," said Spike. "The word 'n*gg*r' isn't 'trendy,' and blacks are not amused." Has Spike given this lecture to the comics on "Def Comedy Jam," or to "gangsta" rapping recording artists? Who do you think uses the "N"-word more, these guys or Quentin Tarantino? One popular rap group calls itself "NWA." The "WA" stands for "with attitude." (Care to speculate on what the "N" stands for?)
Isn't getting a lecture on racial sensitivity from Spike Lee sort of like taking tips on dating etiquette from Marv Albert? Remember a few years ago when Spike Lee announced he wants to be interviewed only by black reporters? Remember during the filming of Jungle Fever, and reports of cast members complaining about Spike Lee's alleged abusive treatment of white women? Remember after the release of Malcolm X, Lee implied a racist conspiracy to miscalculate and lowball box-office receipts of his movie?
And remember when the Director, warmly and sensitively, explained his feeling toward mixed race couples: "I give interracial couples a look. Daggers. They get uncomfortable when they see me on the street." Hmmm. During the O.J. Simpson case, the defense alleged that officer Mark Fuhrman, for no reason, pulled over cars with interracial couples. So when Mark Fuhrman expresses displeasure at interracial couples, he's racist. Spike Lee does it--well, Spike must have had his reasons."
(I didn't write that but I * out the I cause I really hate that word)
So again, see my first paragraph.

how many jobs have you been passed up for because you were white, kona? How about apartments you wanted to rent but didnt get because of the color of your skin?
That damn spike lee, always keeping the honkeys down...
