what companies would you say have, or have had in the past, exceptional underlying brand concepts that come across in everything they do?
An example imo, would be 02 with their bubbles, who else is worth a look?
or any other 'big picture' branding or campaigns.

it's a tough one though, the lines are hard to see sometimes in how a brand-concept is carried through to many components..
so many agencies refer to things as 'mentality-driven' which are clearly, harder to see... others are very literal, where say a visual is used in all materials, as a consistent device beyond the logo, extending the brands visual vocabulary, like the way HP uses the '+' signs in the old campaigns...
If you can wade through my studio's horrendous website, go to "Werk > Huisstijl > Postbank" this rebrand was created with Wolff-ollins and although I cun't directly translate the brand concept, the underlying mentality is "Lose the clutter" everything is stripped down to the core, the photography and copy have duel meanings/relationships but are very down to earth and free of extraneous visuals or messages...

never realized the dual relatioonships in those until now snuggles. guess this is the first time i really looked seriously at those ads haha..
- rasko40
I dont see how to get there - which site? blueprintmedia?
Basically, I am working on internal sub branding for a large initiative which will be ongoing for the next 4 years, what I am interested in doing is finding a big picture underlying concept which will underpin all material, I'm not interested in being too literal at this stage, rather I am into subliminal ideas that have room for expansion and development.

http://www.dietwee.nlwerk > huistijl > postbank

well the ads are created by some agency, all the things on the site are the brochure lines... when they redo the site [i've been told it will be soon] surely they'll put the correspondence sets and images of the recently launched Postbankwinkel, which I must admit, are pretty bril and maintains the brand values really well in a 3d retail environment..
- rasko40
looks good and cohesive, I can't read it unfortunately :(
- mr_snuggles0
maybe crouwel can explain, but they lose a lot in translation, cultural differences/values, etc just don't translate very well...
- Crouwel0
yeah, for instance, girl on bike with bag on her back, "already got a workday behind her back"..
sort of a Dutch saying. Stuff doesn't translate well..
- rasko40
ok, thanks for explaining.
