How many of you guys have degrees in Design or Art? Do you ave a bacheolors? an associates? a masters? Do you think it makes a difference what kind of degree, if any, you have?

i have a bachelors. it was useful because they didnt teach me *how* to design in school, but they taught me the principles of design. so, in a creative rut, i can always revert back to the principles and at least get somewhere.

i have a bfa. it depends on what kind of job you're going for. a masters is great if you're a fan of debt or you are wanting to delay participation in the "real" world. or you'd like to teach other people. it also reads very nicely on a resume.

heh, ya an associates and a bachelors, gained thick skin from the scathing critiques as well...

A degree from certain schools might really help.

i have a masters and it did help. i enjoyed it. i would recommend it.
i was mostly doing it because i wanted to be in school a bit longer. and because my bachelors was not related to design at all. so masters was when i took design classes and learned a thing or two.
it won't make you a a better designer but perhaps a more "educated" fella. but writing the thesis is a bitch. and fuck the damn apa writing style. it was a nightmare i tell you.
come to think of it, masters sucks. don't do it. stay as far away from grad school as possible.

... I suppose school 'motivated' me to constantly 'better myself' and also got me on-track 'technically' (computah's, softwarz n' stuff)...
... but it was inundated w/a whole slew of poo too...

I have a Masters Degree in "Creative Technology".
It honestly didn't teach me anything at all, it just looked impressive on my cv when I went to job interviews.

I have an MA, and a BA. The MA made a big difference initially, but once the experience piled on, its where and what I've worked on that has counted.

Number of times I've been asked what my qualifications are in my 12 year career?
