Your company is worth nothing if it hasn't aligned itself with some lifestyle or primal emotion.
Forget making quality products/services, we can offshore that.
Our focus group said indie-rock is cooler than skateboarding. We need to sponsor a rock show! Cancel the skate contracts.
Branding has its place, but the overblown 'own the culture' branding is pointless.

I have a pipe zip gun and the 83 caprice waiting outside of the liquor store right now. they have an incredible selection of 35 year old scotch. the meter maid has just put the orange "abandoned" sticker on the car, perfect getaway.
