I saw her at glastonbury and she sucked ass. Never liked her though so I guess I wasn't going to change my mind.

// I'm obviously preaching to people of inferior tastes.
- Baskerville0
aw, thanks moth for putting in the '//' specially for me, I'm learning...slowly.

pish... don'tyou listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, moth? a band where almost every song since Under the Bridge, has more or less followed the same structure...
but once again, here we are arguing subjectivity, good times...

(Sep 6 06, 07:00)I do, and I agree. Their old material rocks. Their new stuff, I can't actually stand to hear it. PJ's new stuff is still worth a listen though.

So bascially..."I like their old stuff better than their new stuff"

Under the Bridge

(Sep 6 06, 07:00)Funny you should pick that as an example however, because it leads me to believe you're clutching at straws there snuggles..

(Sep 6 06, 07:08)That's a sorry standand and a cliché for a reason.

You have to put Under the Bridge in the context of the album it's on, which is one of the best records of the 90's.

So how is that different to this:
I do, and I agree. Their old material rocks. Their new stuff, I can't actually stand to hear it.

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about now.
By the time the Arctic Monkeys have 7 records, I'll probably still not like their old stuff.
- Bottlerocket0
All i was doing was pointing out an interesting but cliched response from yourself.
The irony is that you also pointed that out.

(Sep 6 06, 07:12)agreed. RHCP will always rule, no matter what they continue to release. They don't need to prove anything anymore.
Flea will go down in history as one of the most influential bass players. John frusciante rocks too.
I like that flea and chad smith spend lots of time teaching and doing clinics for young musicians. How many other rocks stars would do that?

Discovering old music you never knew will always be the best new music you will find...

"...Sorry I forgot that only mentioning non commercial bands that only 4 people have heard of..."
(Sep 6 06, 04:48)The Arctic Monkeys are far from undiscovered.

(Sep 6 06, 07:15)Using the "cliche" is perfectly valid in terms of the rhcp's. And the fact the of the matter is that artists do get worn and tired by the industry, and forced to produce records when they have nothing left to talk about.... hence the cliche is, and always will be valid.
