great job on the functionality...not diggin' the horizontal scrolling though...just never been a big fan of that

fucking fantastic. compared to the chanel site for example, which is in flash, this is sitting in a redwood tree taking a massive stylish dump on teh competition from extremely high up.
bravo.

interesting, i would have hoped for the whole re-design instead of keeping the general layout.

if i cant see the code when i'm lookin at it , it aint shit.
ok
heres an example
when someone says, this was all done w/ css not flash
and i look at the site, and it looks like flash, buts its css
then i'm like whoa!
but it stops after that...and this site, the last thing i thought was flash...
the clicks on my ie browser windows give em up everytime

the best thing is the first image fade from white to black

it's not just css, it's a lot of javascript (ajax) as well.
- Teeuwen0

gucci programmer got the loading icon generated here:

i think it's awkward
the resizing is annoying as well

as i said its a bag of components tha work okay in all browsers and put together...
that said, i like to see a flash site that people don't know is flash... so in that way, it doesn't make much difference... roadrunner being an example

something bugs me about this though - I've just searched for a few things on google in the gucci catalogue and gotten nae links to the site itself. I understand this may be because its new, but it got me thinking; once this site is established, how will deeplinking from search engines work with it? I would have thought one of the main reasons to do Gucci in html would have been to have people link direct to their ecommerce op rather than 3rd parties, but will it work?

good point kelpster.
i'm afraid tis still too new to judge about this now..
we'll have to check later.
