coudal's only selling their wit. they don't show much of anything else, and when they do they shellac it with copy. do they make anything other than dvd cases?

I still think subway tastes like freshly served shart.

Damn jevad, sorry to sully your beloved agency.com thread. Didnt know there were rules for this sort of thing.

some of you folks need to calm the flock down...
... stop hating on something you didn't think of (and is working as it's supposed to... whether it's 'hated' or not)...
and evan... wtf, dude?... do your fucking school work, bust your ass at what you do and ease up on the 'weird' anger. :).. you're too good to let this shit bother you... focus, young man!!

It doesn't bother me at all, PonyBoy. I'm having a laugh at them.

Hmmm... as funny as that Coudal video is, I don't think it's really very professional. I mean it doesn't make them look better than Agency dot com and it doesn't make Agency look bad.
It's the kind of trash talking that you hear about in glossy mags "JEN HATES BRAD" "ANGE LONELY AS BRAD LONGS FOR JEN" or some crap like that.

wow, read thru all of these looking for one positive post. nothing.
Agency should have kept this video between them and Subway. It would have showed well. Not saying this video would win them the biz, but if you know anything about pitching you'll know that you're lucky if you have a week or two to put together the written piece, print piece, comps, and hopefully something animated. The video would have been a nice differentiator. Now they can only hope Subway isn't reading all of the negative feedback. Shame

i agree ants, no class

ok, ok. I used to work @ Agency and I feel I should defend them for their efforts..
First of all – this is a PITCH. Not meant to sell Subway sandwiches, but rather show the power of viral (via youtube). Hence, the verbatim words "viral" in the actual dialog. It seems to be working.. This was an experiment on their end to show how things can snowball from a novel idea. So chill..
Second, there is no BS in the candid nature of the video – this is how it is to work at Agency. The guy with the hat is really like that and not "playing" to the camera.. In other words, Agency is a great experience to work for if you ever get the chance to work there.
Third, remove the aesthetic point of view (as well as the trademark NT attitude) and look at this from a Subway point of view if you got this as a submission to move on to the next round in an RFP to be the next online ad firm to differentiate your brand from your competition online..

level, anyone in the industry knows this video will show well to the client.. I really don't get where all of the negative energy stems from.
- ants0
I think it probably started on youtube with people responding to comments "left by the company?"
what thinks ye? maybe people feel that it was fairly fabricated in that sense. I would suggest though that companies do that all the time... just differently.
- PonyBoy0
i agree... this isn't 'bad' work at all... it's more of a simple documentary style of a company going after a client...
... i was confused by the folks shredding this - this is just 'people at work' doing there thing...
... i recall watching this documentary a number of years ago about 2 Ad agencies going after the same client (Carmel Ice Cream - if anyone's seen this)... and basically it was a look at each side's method and approach...
... both were different.. .but the key thing that the documentary reminds of is the 'team' atomasphere in which you see in the agency video...
... and if a team can get that kooky together... you got something 'good' in my opinion- because there's obviously plenty of talent there (just look at their work and site etc)... and when talent like that is as cohesive and energetic as they appear to be (and from what someone just posted above who used to work there)... then I think you've got something good...

It just boils down to being creative and 'Agency'.com isn't.
- fate_0
I can only assume the people looking for the silver lining in this mess are those that haven't watched it.
My favorite quotes:
"When we roll...we roll BIG!"
"CORNER OFFICE, NOW!"
"I'm described as Rodney Dangerfield and Grace Kelley! *Giggle*"
"Zinger!"
To a rabbi - "Are you not allowed to talk to women?"
This video is a gigantic pile of embarrassing shit. And before another one of you attests to the "success" of this viral ad, attempting to pollish this turd up, this shit has no impact outside the advertising industry...this very small arena, where we're all making fun of it.
- fate_0
And for those who think Subway will "get it", subway will probably blacklist Agency.com. They failed to follow the brief, they almost doubled the 5 minute time, and it was just a gigantic circle-jerk. No creativity at all, just pats on the back.
Time is money, and Agency.com has wasted Subway exec's time.
- level2b0
Kenntho, iight. Defend your comment.. How would you approach Subway if you were in the running?
- fate_0
level2b, read my previous comment. That video was all pats-on-the-back, no creativity.
