Let's face it folks America got played. Bush and co already wanted to invade, but they were largely led into it by the Iraqi National Congress and Ahmed Chalabi. Ultimate winner here? Iran.

Assuming Iraq was invaded to free to people from cruel treatment is ridiculous.
In addition to reasons given above here is a list of 10 other dictators. Do you think we will be invading them to free the people from suffering too?

The US Amred Forces are designed for a fair fight. Insurgents don't fight fair. That's why vietnam, and now iraq, became such a problem.

I bet that US army can't get into de Amazon....
And you know why??? Because they weren't designed for it!!!
hahahahahhahaha
Come on bro... how can you say that they are "the best force in the planet" if they weren't designed for any situation...
The last few things they got into it... they fucked up!!!
And you know why??? Because they (politics) think that every situation can be solved by pushing a button and sending bombs over it.... no my friend, if they want the Amazon, come and get it on foot!!! Just like vietnam... they don't know how to do it face to face with the locals... JUNGLE IS DIFFERENT buddy!!! Specially if you can't bomb and destroy it...
A feel sorry about the soldiers that dies defending something that PEOPLE SITTING BEHIND A DESK think it's correct... after the brainwash of course!!!
You had a good president... Clinton... that used his power to fuck girls... and now you reelected the most stupid guy ever... that only think about his money and nothing else...
That's sad my friend... that's sad...
ps. Sorry if I was a bit rude, because when I start speaking about it, I get nervous...

But I thik the iraqis had shitty design. We invaded them to improve their creative management teams I think...and to bring them various and sundry fast food franchises. Heck, that almost makes more sense...

Look, we SHOULD have taken Saddam out in '91. Saddam was a bad guy, but he was OUR bad guy for a while, and then he wasn't, but it was a differnet political era/context. Saddam made many stupid political errors in judgement, and crossing the US was one of them. It was pure power politics.
Morality and politics make strange bedfellows. Open to interpretation and history really. You take your chances as they come up, and they don't always work out. But you got to be smart enouigh to know when to cut your loses, which is something Americans have been horrible at since 1956.
This recent invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with Saddam crossing the US or with WMD's (or very little to do with it). It had to do with factions within the US goerntment/policy beauracracy (read neocons) trying out a new foreign policy doctrine based on half-thought out ideas in the context of a post 9/11 opportunity.
Afghanistan was the right war at the right time in response to 9-11. But that was brushed aside to try and fulfill a policy objective of making the "US the number one superpower" for an indeterminate period of time. Well, we all know about the plans of mice and men...
