Your article states that Watson and Crick believed in the subsequent Darwinian synthesis of Natural Selection driving mutation. Good for them. Doesn't change their discovery. Nor does it change the fact that the information preceeds the synthesis.

Why do creationists see everything in black and white? You can believe in both evo and creationism. If taken word for word, the bible is fucking insane. The greek orthodox church figured this one out a while ago and has accepted evolution guided by God.

i'm sorry, but you have no idea what you are talking about. Try not to take that personally however. You may want to actually study what Creationists actually believe before burping out such silliness. "Evolution" has different meanings. YEC's most certainly DO believe in "evolution" and speciation. Just not blind, natural, unguided mechanisms as the driving force.

And there are also, Young Earth, Old Earth, Framework & Noetic Creationists (Theistic Evolutionists like some Catholics and EO can also be considered "Creationists" depending on how you define it and where you move teh goalposts to).

I may not currently hold to a Young Earth view, but I still see compelling evidence for a young earth. Especially with the soft tissue they are now starting to find in dinosaur remains, etc...
The age of the earth is a conundrum and I don't think anybody is very close to closing the case on it. I think there may be a reason for that. I think we also have a very limited perception of time.

I'm not sure, mrdobs. It's hard for me to make an educated opinion about the war because I haven't looked at the arguments from both sides in depth. That said, my knee-jerk is that we could have done some sort of covert mission and removed key people from power and avoided all out war. But I'm clueless about the war issue really.
