Also ... the refs had no idea Zidane did that. None.
They knew something happened, but they didn't see anything.
They actually caught the replay on the big screens in the stadium, and THEN made the call which is something they are not supposed to do.

I saw a very schizo version of my father yesterday... I’ll remember it for eternity.
Day started off with a few K1664’s and some barbequed Merguez; talking up the French team and remembering how great France were in ‘98 and ‘00. Zidane was mentioned in every sentence (we saw him score a wonder goal for Bordeaux when they played Irish side Bohemians in the Intertoto cup back in ‘93/‘94 and it’s been adoration ever since).
My father went from a placid peace-loving Zidane admirer to an abusive hulk-like rage meister in the space of half an hour. There were tears and abuse a-flowing.

(Jul 10 06, 07:47)Was it the big screens in the stadium? I kept reading that the fourth official saw the replay on a small monitor, but that the stadium screens didn't show it - hence why the French fans kept whistling.
Anyway, hopefully this sets some sort of precedent for replay - at least so that the morons don't keep blowing goal line calls.

i don't understand, i just saw it again on SportsCenter and it looked like France's defense was in line with the 2 italian players?

It's hard in this situations if an action is offside or not.
