"I did not provoke him, I responded verbally to a provocation," Materazzi told the daily Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

Materazzi told the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that he was pulling on the French star's shirt when Zidane said 'if you want my shirt so much I'll give it to you after the game'.
'I answered that I'd prefer his sister,' said Inter Milan's Materazzi.
