What kind of budget you looking at? I know plenty of good photographers willing to travel if the money's right.

the pay is $175 + supplies i believe. plus, of course, you have photo credits in xlr8r, which is a large national magazine.

Why not just send the dude to some Elementary school's photo day, pickup a pack of 8 by 10's for $50.

are you sure its not just a headshot your buddy needs to submit.. ? like something he should get a buddy to snap quickly, or maybe pull out of his press kit.
i don't believe XLR8R pays $150 for a feature photoshoot. they're a big rag with big distribution.

(Jun 26 06, 13:06)had you learned to photograph, you know, bought a nice big heavy multi lens for thousands and actually learned how to use it properly, getting color tone, focus, and saturation all in frame in the shot, not post, then i doubt you would be all excitable over $175
but from where you see it as pointing and shooting, then yeah $175 is great
but thats not how it is.
and this computer still doesn't have a "make website to make every customer happy" button

once you figure in transportation, setup, shoot time, processing/editing, that's not worth the $45 or less an hour.
