Take a stroll around Gaudi Gardens, visit the Camp Nou (ideally on a matchday) and the Sagrada Familia while busy and unfinished is still impressive (especially if you go up to the top).
Where not to go .. not sure really.

well i know about all the famous places! but some people warned me about places with a lot of pickpockets that needs to be avoided at all cost!
i need to know!

don't dwell on la ramblas, its a tourist nightmare.
Spend time in Gracia to the north of the Eixample, its the cool, lefty bit with wee narrow streets and loads of really nice squares and cool bars.
Laugh at Italians on Passeig de Gracia. ;)

Have you been to the Museum of Modern Art? They told me it has a nice neighbourhood with artists, designers, little shops and restaurants and stuff. It is in Old Town i think?

(Jun 14 06, 02:54)if you referring to El Raval i can give you a name of a nice cosy bar -my mate owns it

the pickpocket thing is blown out of proporation, I'm sure it happens, but not as much as people claim and probably more to fat old americans.
Of anywhere round the centre you would go to, the dodgiest is El Raval (next to the Ramblas) though its not bad, its just a bit edgier (loads of hookers for example). It also has loads of cool bars though, so you'll want to drink there.
Show no fear, big cities are like dogs, if your not afraid, they wont attack ;)

Oddland
C/Joaquín Costa 52 (mobile 665 520 094). Metro Universitat.
Open 7pm-2am Tue-Thur, Sun; 7pm-3am Fri, Sat.
No credit cards.
Small and unprepossessing from without, Oddland lives up to its name inside. The loos are especially wacky, with pebbles on the floor, a profusion of plastic ivy and Astroturf, an ‘inspirational’ blackboard with coloured chalks for your graffiti and cartoon characters aplenty. The bar serves fine sandwiches, herbal teas and cheap cocktails, and has listening posts for you to check out the staff’s favourite CDs.
-----------haha sounds promising!

Montjuic or Tibidabo.

El Born, full of nice bars. It has a bit trendy hype, but don't let this put you down. Try a few slices at Pizza del Born.
Nothing really interesting in Marina/Via Olimpica, you may want to take a look at the clubs/bars on the beach there, but some of them don't seem inspiring.
We found a very nice shabby hidden beer garden, a bar linked to some small theatre, somewhere close to Palau de la Musica Catalana and Mercado Santa Catalina (both worth a look themselves). Will try to post later from home, have to check its name on the pics. Cheap beer, seesaw on a tree and great atmosphere - full of young locals.
