Rasko, I'm absolutely following what you're saying. I'm concerned with the blatant display of insensitivity toward a very large group of people who would find that offensive. Children mostly know what they've experienced. How would a kid feel seeing something like that after being teased on the playground for years for being a half breed. It can also give other children fuel to continue being ignorant as all holy hell.
It would be similar to making a Watermelon Wanda Barbie, Towel head Tammi, or a Dole Banana sponsored Asian Barbie. Large corporations like Mattel should be aware when creating products that are supposed to represent different cultures in a positive light.
Personally, I am not thaaat offended. I suppose a better word for my reaction to the product is *shocked*.

I LOVE YOU SHELLIE

cool, I'm not saying anything is bad about it. I love talking to girls about guys and how they interact on first dates and stuff. It's interesting how 2 guys can do the same thing to the same girl and it comes off completely different in the girls head. I always think it's not just the jesture but a combination of a lot more uncommunicated things that happen. anyway... glad to hear your happpy

_sal, I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone. I just would rather not set myself up for someone to make fun of me or make snide remarks for no reason. It doesn't make for an enjoyable experience.

You're right, rasko. I'll need to think about that one for a while.

Joyride, to answer your question:
I'm liking him and his ability to pay attention. He bought me something which is -- duh -- pretty rad. Girls like "stuff" now and again. I don't think any girl would disagree. However, he could have done or even said something equally as clever that would have knocked my socks off, too. Had he bought me something random like a braclet or what have you, I might have recieved it as sort of creepy -- especially for a first date.
It's the thought, obviously -- not the present itself, cost, etc. I'm not that surface.
I can recognize a sweet jesture and appreciate it.

I am aware of the term Jaline, thanks, my point was that the term Oreo seems to infer that white people are perhaps something inferior or that there is something immoral or wrong with interracial relationships, I am more questioning why a term is derogatory and to whom the term would be more derogatory other than the fact that the majority of people get offended by things because society requires and dictates that they should, and not that they actually are offensive. Infact, terms like this perpetuate racism from within the black population which is a rare point of view from the point of mass media.
Maybe I am completely wrong, I was simply curious as to what in particular shellie found offensive.

I thought about ebay but he would have had to get it in less than a day. You cant really get people to ship things to youthat fast. He had to find it in town -- somewhere.
shelliemaybe he just picked up one of his many racist dolls from his racist doll collection?

i thought the derogatory term heeb was spelled well, H E E B
whereas Hebe would be the the one pouring nectar for the gods
she was like the first official cocktail waitress
