Joyride, to answer your question:
I'm liking him and his ability to pay attention. He bought me something which is -- duh -- pretty rad. Girls like "stuff" now and again. I don't think any girl would disagree. However, he could have done or even said something equally as clever that would have knocked my socks off, too. Had he bought me something random like a braclet or what have you, I might have recieved it as sort of creepy -- especially for a first date.
It's the thought, obviously -- not the present itself, cost, etc. I'm not that surface.
I can recognize a sweet jesture and appreciate it.
