mrdobs,
No banning gay marriage will not stop gay sex. Of course not. My point was that you don't have to be a person of faith to recognize that it physiologically unhealthy. Again, facts like these can be recognized without hating a person.
Adoption - I'm not against it. But, I don't think it is the optimal scenario. Children are wired to need a father and a mother. It's unfortunate that this ideal scenario is so rare these days.

crouwel - I meant centuries or forever for that matter. I was more interested in pointing out the harmful traditions these crazy christians proliferate.
If they had listened to jesus christianity wouldn't exist today anyway.

can a homosexual go to heaven according to your beliefs?

it may seem tangently related, but any physician will tell you that homosexual intercourse wreaks havoc on the human immune system and leads to disease. It seems that we are not designed for it.
Don't get all hating, now. That's simply a medical fact.

(May 18 06, 13:29)this is true. same goes for eating RAW meat.
but great groups of people have adjusted biologically to be able to eat raw meat.
if you take a holiday in an exotic country you will most likely get some sort of disease or flue or food poisoning. while the natives there have no issues.
it's all about adapting. human evolution.
most gays i know here, and amongst them some very dear friends of mine, have no terrible diseases.
this has to do with responsibility in one's sexual life.
disease happens more to the terribly dumb Dutch teenagers going to Spanish coast every year and have unsafe sex and lots of drugs and alcohol.
that, my friend, degrades the moral climate.
it's not love that degrades it my friend.

you know what flagellum? i think those of us that were brought up by single parents would tell you to fuck off right about now.
so, fuck off.
you have proof kids are "wired" a certain way and that we're all in need of cretain specifications in order to be brought up? and brought up by whose standards? the church? america? afghanistan? you're simply playing with words right now, vague ideals based on a certain sect of society. there are plenty of ways kids have been brought up and been successful.

Oh, it's Brookoioioi!
Still peddling that 19th century mysticism about how Natural Selection + Random Mutation is somehow responsible for biological novelty? :)
We are a fallen species driven by lust for power, sexuality, status, a sense of meaning and purpose and other things. So spare me your materialistic reductionism before you even start.

I like the name flagellum and have always wished that I could move about like that.

"christianity is one of the most destructive forces that ever existed on earth"
That's quite a sweeping statement
Does this mean I can blame all negros for everything because I saw one on today's daily convicted of a crime?
lose the grip brother

(May 18 06, 13:36)good point.

so is the military-industrial complex two of the most destructive forces love to hate gay people this means they are satan and satan is the lying despicable shit hole of the universe and is not god or heaven but simple minded sin

prodigalslacker, there are exceptions to every rule. Just as i have said before.
But find me a study that has been shown to support that, IN GENERAL, children grow up as psychologically developed and problem-free in single parent or homosexual families, as those raised in traditional families. Good luck. In contrast, I can point you to studies which demonstrate what I am saying - that the ideal scenario for the well being of children is 1 father and 1 mother.

flagellum, all nonsense aside i am happy you defend your points here because it is good to discuss and think about these matters.
if do not agree with you but i applaud you for not running away from this thread.
- denvergreenbud0
You can blame any group you want to pacoT.
If you take a good look at history and really study christianity I think you will see that it is a destructive force that often ignores the tennants of the person who it is founded after.
You are correct my 'opinion' was broad sweeping and not backed up with fact, but I have 'faith' that I am right.

(May 18 06, 13:41)except the alcholic incestuous abusers who just happen to remain married until death?
- flagellum0
I appreciate that, Crouwel. I know this is super touchy subject. It's virtually impossible to discuss without everybody getting up n' arms.
My main goal is to demonstrate that we can disagree with a position or idea based on it's merits (or lack thereof), not the people behind it.

flagellum, i know you are pretty intelligent. and i know you think very highly of yourself. nothing wrong with that of course....
but surely you can see how biased and flawed your analogies are. especially the baseball MVP award analogy.
i do appreciate the effort you go through to prove your points, (and i know you like your analogies) but as intelligent as you are, you must understand that the second you provide a completely biased set of facts or statements-
your credibility goes way down.
way...... down.
and people stop listening, and they referring to you as a bigot, or crazy guy or whatever.
not just here.
everywhere in lifeand if you can't agree that the facts you stand behind are completely biased, then you are not as smart as you think you are.
