Crouwel,
Your argument is incoherent. There are always exceptions to every rule.
Studies have shown that children thrive and develop best with a father and mother in a traditional marriage setting. Don't hate me, hate the studies which support this.
Ultimately, it comes down to how we define marriage. I believe that marriage was instituted specifically between 1 mand and 1 woman. This is marriage, by definition. If you do not have 1 man and 1 woman, you have something other than the covenant of marriage.
And as the article I linked effectively demonstrates using statistics and history. Marriage as defined any other way is not beneficial to the long term health of the nation. It is ultimately destructive.
Does this mean I hate gay people? Of course not. It simply boils down to believing that marriage is defined in a very exclusive way and that this covenant should only be observed in the proper context.

me too, Rand.
NO offense.
I was simply venting my anger toward the idea of letting religion DOMINATE political decisions!
just like Iran there is no seperation of state and church in the US and that will make the US more and more backward over time.
digging their own grave indeed.

I don't really see any issue with letting 'whatever' type of people get married.
We humans are all fucked anyway, and we have done a pretty shitty job of creating a society worldwide: racism, sexism, pollution, starvation, greed...to quote mad magazine - YEECH!

christ was a bastard if you think about it.

the study is not solid. as it lacks the study of married gay couples raising children.
and still, i'd rather see a hopeless 3rd world child being raised with a gay couple with good standards but mostly morals then to let it suffer the INFINITLY more destructive prospects it has where it lives now.

TAX THE GAYS!
if we yell that enough the republicans will get on board and the issue will go away.

(May 18 06, 13:01)we are not fucked at all. that's a very bad mentality to make your own opinions.

US politics and religious zealots make it all look like such a fucking circus over there.
- flagellum0
uh no, the study considered every possible scenario. That was the point of the study. (It doesn't help to just make things up because it is an emotionally charged subject, Crouwel.)
and you said:
"and still, i'd rather see a hopeless 3rd world child being raised with a gay couple with good standards but mostly morals then to let it suffer the INFINITLY more destructive prospects it has where it lives now."
And I would too. But what does this have to do with endorsing homosexual marriage? There are plenty of gay couples doing charitable acts like this already. What's your point in regards to gay marriage?
- denvergreenbud0
crouwel would you say that systematically the earth would be better off or worse if we didn't exist?
I realize this is hypothetical but thats how I see things.

(May 18 06, 13:06)ACKNOWLEDGING their right to live life like anyone else.
EQUAL opportunities.
i thought the very foundations of your FREE country endorsed this idea!
but i may be wrong.
- mrdobolina0
hey discipler, christians don't own marriage, you know?
- ********0
and btw. if a study has been carried out here it's been signed by a university or something and not named "christian".
don't be susprised if bias is suspected!!
- flagellum0
Enough of the rhetoric about how people who disagree with a behavior choice are "homophobes" and full of "hate". This is left-wing propaganda and it's nonsense.
People can love homosexuals and let them have their relationships and freely live their lives without endorsing the legalization of homosexual marriage.

(May 18 06, 13:06)we don't live to question our existance for the benefit of just a lump of rock flying in space, if we did not exist it could have been locusts helping this world back to a dead planet.
i don't feel guilty for being part of the dominating species.
but we have the power to care about our environment, and a strong responsibility.
but it has nothing to do with outnumbering ourselves.
