Yes I have tried almost all routes. THere probably is a way out I just thought that just banning IE users would do me fine.

I was extremely tempted to do the same thing, Dancer. i couldn't figure out this one part of my code and it kept screwing up in IE. In the end I realized that if I wanted people to see my site I'd have to make it compatible with as many platforms and browsers as possible.
Common sense, really :P

also, you can't 'open' anything in my portfolio. It's more of clicking on a number and then the image fades in.

The only time I have run into someone using the Mac version of IE for browsing was on the computer of this stupid girl in the Fashion program at my school who got held back int he 7th grade because she didn't know how to read.
Translation: The dumbest of the dumb use Mac IE. If these knuckle heads aren't in your target audience, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they are, work around it.
