alegra has no affect on me any more. i tried benadryl (sp?) but it put me to sleep on the train. usually my allergies slow up once i get into the office, but the mornings on the train are horrrrrrible. i also heard that clariton was good.

What IS everyone alergic to?
Me, I'm allergic to idiots, people with no eye for details, and people who think the most interesting thing they can talk about his how drunk they got last night.

Claritin has been ok for me, but not great. I thought it was because I got a new cat last month, but everyone says how bad it is this year.
I haven't tried pot for allergies.

I use a netti pot, you flush out your sinuses with salt water and I use xylitol also, but it sounds bad but it works wonders.
I used to do it daily in the mornings, it helps, no allergy medicines worked for me, so i stopped taking them.
Also there is this folk rememdy site i found is nice.

I'm a huge fan of the shots. I got those a while ago and it pretty much did away with my allergies. I stopped getting it when i moved to Philly because I don't know of a decent allergist/doctor to get it from and this season has been total hell.
You need to be careful with the shot, if they mess it up or you just have a bad reaction to it you can go into anaphylactic shock and totally ruin your day.

This is the best stuff I have ever tried.
asthmaquell
I don't know how it works but I do know that I sat on the pollen covered porch today petting pollen and dander covered stray cats and I didn't even sniffle.
Usually I'd be dead. This stuff rules.

Singulair has actually worked really well for me in the past.

seasonal allergies are from your liver not being in top form. the pollen is toxic to everyone only some have livers that are overloaded with other toxins (cigarettes, coffee, alcohol, lack of sleep, stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, etc.) and can't handle the added toxin.
this isn't the case everytime .. but most times. in some instances it could be unhealthy lungs. but if your eyes are itchy it's most likely your liver.
i'd steer clear of all offenders if you want to see some improvement.

'claritin has been shown to cause liver tumors, including cancers'

'take 1 teasp. fresh grated horseradish in a spoon with lemon juice. hang over a sink to release great quantities of excess mucous fast.'
hahaha .. that sounds pretty

sorry to go on but you did ask.
'eat non-mucous forming foods: fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, cultured foods like yogurt, high vitamin C foods like citrus and berries, seafoods, and fundamental sulphur from cabbage, onions and garlic. get plenty of essential fatty acids from omega-3 oils like flax, seagreens and spinach.
avoid preserved and canned foods, sugary foods, caffeine and fatty, mucous forming foods during healing. this means dairy products.'
geesh. there's so much you can do.
liver support: dandelion-nettles tea (2 cups daily)
adrenals support: b-complex with extra pantothenic acid 500mg
acupressure point:
during an attack, press tip of nose hard as needed for relief.

wow, i haven't got any actual useful info from anyone here for a while.
thanks salisae.
my eyes have been itching badly recently. And thing is I never really had allergies this time of year but this year i get runny nose and etc.
so it's all in the liver? i dont smoke and don't drink that much... though i haven't exvercsed in like 20 years.
