that's been posted before, and the general consensus was: whoever did that is a total ass who shouldn't be able to have kids.
since when is it fun to make children cry?
aren't there other ways to toughen a kid up?

oooh make it illegal arrest the parents!!
get a grip man its justa scary face on a computer screen, all these pansies crying about it in the comments there are pathetic, a scary face on a screen is not traumatic, they'll want to ban halloween next
- Gucci0
Fuck that. it's about being a decent human being.
Would it be okay if someone did that to a handicapped child?
Preying on an unsuspecting kid isn't a test of manhood – not by a stretch.
talk about getting a grip.......

Why pull out the disabled card, that's not at all relevant - the kid isn't disabled. What a shit way to support your argument. Get a grip.
- rasko40
LOL @ 'preying'
I'm guessing you were a single child and are going to be one of those parents that wont let their kid out in the neighbourhood, drops them off by car at their friends party with a kiss even though they are now 16 and sues the school for making him play football in his pants when he repeatedly forgets his kit.
good luck to your kids, they will be lucky if they dont end up as spoilt little twats with no sense of humour.
:)

(Apr 1 06, 10:26)hardly.
it merely puts a gaping hole on the other side of the argument in clear view.if the act is deplorable because the kid was handicapped... why is it ok for anyone else?
why are some people held to a higher/lower moral standard? We're all equal as people and should be treated as such.
'weak' is a subjective but very general term – one that can be applied in this case, seeing as the kid was in the care of an adult and was taken advantage of – an adult who puportedly is much more astute than he is.
don't get me wrong, i had to force myself not to chuckle when i saw it, but then the kid started to ball his eyes out it wasn't funny. Plus, i'm being challenged here....
i don't want to start sounding like a social worker, but... I can't stand people that prey on others for kicks... that's it.damn... that was a long post. i'm going outside.

rasko, i've seen first hand how shit like that can affect kids...
it's a soft spot, don't start talking shit about my kids, aight?
- rasko40
re your comment on disabled kids: I think you are misguided here, treating disabled kids is not some blanketed black and white issue, that depends on the individual just as it should with 'normal' kids. I can tell you that if I was playing this gag I would play the same gag on a physically disabled kid as this has no bearing on whether or not he/she is disabled, if they had learning difficulties or emotional problems then obviously that would be different.
anyway, I think we are really getting too involved in this, have a good evening.

I can't believe how worked up people are getting!
How does anyone know the person taping even thought the kid would actually cry. He might just have wanted to see him jump, it's just a practical joke!
If this one event scars the child, I assure there are underlying issues!
As well, I'll wager once the kid settled down, he thought it was great! Kids are like that!

agreed
cheers

Gucci: I don't think the kid was being abused or preyed on or anything, it's just a stupid practial joke, we've all fallen fowl to them, young and old, many times in our lives.
This is funny because any average kid of his age would've leapt out of his seat in shock, then been laughing about it within about 30 seconds and looking for his brother to play the same trick on. Infact I don't doubt that this kid calmed down then did exactly that...
The kid over-reacted, got all teary, like a much younger kid would've, and for that reason I'm betting the parent wouldn't have played the trick on a younger child.
It's hardly "bad" parenting, it's just "when harmless practical jokes go wrong"... and that's all it is, harmless. A joke. He'll get over it... or if he doesn't, bawls about it for hours, get's all scared to use computers "because of that nasty trick daddy played"... well, that kids going to be in for a hard life ahead.
Funny how this threads gone all up-in-arms about it really!
Talk about long posts... :)
