Gucci: I don't think the kid was being abused or preyed on or anything, it's just a stupid practial joke, we've all fallen fowl to them, young and old, many times in our lives.
This is funny because any average kid of his age would've leapt out of his seat in shock, then been laughing about it within about 30 seconds and looking for his brother to play the same trick on. Infact I don't doubt that this kid calmed down then did exactly that...
The kid over-reacted, got all teary, like a much younger kid would've, and for that reason I'm betting the parent wouldn't have played the trick on a younger child.
It's hardly "bad" parenting, it's just "when harmless practical jokes go wrong"... and that's all it is, harmless. A joke. He'll get over it... or if he doesn't, bawls about it for hours, get's all scared to use computers "because of that nasty trick daddy played"... well, that kids going to be in for a hard life ahead.
Funny how this threads gone all up-in-arms about it really!
Talk about long posts... :)
