JazX, when your mother goes on Medicaid because she makes 1/3 the amount she made 5 years ago because her job moved to Mexico. Then Bush cuts her Medicaid to give energy companies handouts during their most profitable era while energy prices are on unprecedented rises across the board, you might be a little pissed off at your President.

People actually are effected by politicians decisions, you know.

touche, touche, take it easy. I never said I disagreed with all of your viewpoints. I'm not a one issue voter dude.

  • Kirshar0

the casinos in NO aren't Indian owned to my knowledge, unless there are reservations in NO, so, yeah, the taxes from the casino revenue goes to the state, the city may get some, not really sure, but the majority goes into the state.........

and for the levees, it's good to know that we've brought in engineers form northern Europe who actually know how to build a water retaining structure.

dobs, fellas... I agree the buck stops w/Bushie!! He's not my fearless leader either... oy vey... I said the buck stops with him... and agree he IS accountable - he's the boss.

    you're absolutely right. :)

but.. it's not that black and white, fine sirs.

This is about the beaucracy. This is joint failure from all realms of the gov. involved... and yes - it does stop w/Bush.

... but you can't place the blame entirely on him. He did his part... and continued to do so...

... his subordinates relieved themselves of duty (brownie) as 1.) it was the right thing to do as he wasn't qualified... and 2.) he's the fellow who was left in charge by the pres... I think it's safe to say that pres SHOULD BE able to depend on his subordinates...

... but, admitingly - his subordinates in this particular instance.... SUCK.

Now - that's admitted... the guy (brown) isn't running things anymore etc...

... really - what more do you want? If you think you're going to get a resignation out of Bush because you think he WANTED the levee's to break... and that HE WANTED the poor black folks in the effected neighborhoods to die... then I have nothing else I can say - because you're so fucking lop-sided in your thinking that even trying to reason w/you is a joke.

Do you want Bush gone now? Is this the 'final straw'? I read something about his 'track record' above..

... I don't really want to touch that except to say... that's the same old lame-ass sound-byte that flows w/the rest of the HATE BUSH spin.

Once again - you just don't like this man... so you'll take situations that AREN'T BLACK AND WHITE and fucking spin it with your absolutist, hater, anti-anything-republican/conserv... spew.

When is the left going to do some self realization and pick up on the fact that they lack ideas, leadership and stability? You'd get alot more done if you stopped looking for reasons to bring down the administration. It's a massive group of haters who lack true reasoning.

Find something usefull to offer... we know how much you hate Bush and his administration. Show some ideas - some solutions... something...

... if you keep blaming and accusing people of being evil - you really think they're going to respect you and listen to you?

    HELL NO.

With the left - the TRUTH is if I (someone w/conservative views) don't agree with you... then I'M WRONG... even if I can overload you w/a good argument and FACTS and solid reasoning...

... you let your hatred blind you... it's really sad. Even if you're right... you'll get nothing done by being anti-america and talking shit about the very place you live (I'm speaking directly to Americans here). If you don't like the way things are... fight for a change w/as much truth as you can gather... be reasonable... SHOW ME SOMETHING USEFUL...

... but alas - all you can do is critize and hate blindly.

Obviously, the place itself is under sea water.

The last time I checked there was plenty of land in the surrounding area.

Yeah, historically, it would be aweful & sad, but one option would be to move back a little outside of that synclinal structure where the city is sitting.

I would go with the EU anyway, outside thinking is never bad and they are more geared towards these things. There's less of this in the US and much more of it in the EU.

    Good on that.

Here is an idea for you, conservatives don't like welfare or "entitlement" programs... STOP giving out tax dollars to profitable businesses.

Here is an idea for you, conservatives love the troops, but make them buy their own armor. Buy them their fucking armor and pay for their medical care.

Here is an idea for you, Generals in the iraq war said that in order for the operation to be a success, you would need 400-500,000 troops on the ground in iraq. Give them the fucking troops.

Here is an idea for you, crime goes up when public assistance goes down. Stop pulling money from after-school programs and head start programs if you want the crime rate to remain low.

Here is one more, If you call a program "No Child Left Behind" and you mandate it to be in all 50 states and don't fund it, you really shouldn't be too surprised when test scores don't come up. Fund the fucking program.

    Want more ideas?

Most of your posts are like a fucking soundbite.

what a bleak outlook, dobs... where has Bush cut medicaid to help to specifically help the energy companies?

Please show me some specific proof - I want to see the legal docs showing where he did this... or are you giving us a 'suggestive possibility' for the future?

Not to be rude to JazX OR his Mom (although I did have to give her an extra push to get out of bed the other morning)... but how 'bout you give JazX's Mom a little credit... or other American people who PREFER to take care of themselves and their own - we're in a capitalist society here. If YOU DON'T WORK - you don't live. We need to take care of our elderly, sick, handicapped etc...

... but we need to stop relying on the Government to take care of us. I hate that.

I know I know... easier said than done... there's lots of poverty, lack of education in existance that makes my 'idealistic' view seem unreasonable etc... but it's a better solution to teach people how to rely on themselves... rather than 'expect' shit in the future.

This country needs to look at education... it needs to work on how it's members of society can HELP THEMSELVES... and stop looking for the gov. to plan their lives for them.

Eliminate the 'you owe me' mentality and get people to start doing shit for themselves!!!!! EDUCATE!!! That's the true solution.

    Great ideas.

    They all cost money.

Didn't he just drop the largest budget increase ever?

Think of how your head almost exploded with that number. Tac on a few more billion for your ideas and it would have been like that scene in scanners.

He cut Medicaid, He added to handouts to energy companies in the same budget. Go look it up for yourself.

//My mother is 58 years old, I'm not sure she is going to be able to afford to go to a good biomedical university and graduate before retirement while working at Walmart without insurance. Step out of your young man life for one second to see things from other people's point of view.

OK, now you struck a nerve. Bad example. As a former teacher and kid who grew up in an impoverished lower income community, it's the people that make an educational program work not so much the funding. Kids will learn if they want to learn and there's not much more to it than that. Besides having a solid home life, which too few do. As well as solid teachers.

We can sit around and bash the Republicans for not fully funding a program, etc., etc. but there is plenty, if not tons of free money out there for teachers in the form of educational grants besides what schools already get, Federally, for this program. However, they should fund what they start.

    Maybe we agree on this!?

  • mrdobolina0

JazX, it is a fact that schools in affluent neighborhoods get more funding from property taxes than inner city schools where the tax base is smaller.

Which schools do you think do better?

  • Mimio0

Kind of a no-brainer actually, poor communities have poor schools.
