wtf is going on? Everybody is ill these days, then In have to deal with the northern line every morning, crammed like sardines with all these ill people breathing all over me, determined to make me ill aswell.. dammit I was ill yesterday - at least I have the courtesy to be ill at the weekend! And what is it with these people who are ill but come into work, spreading their germs.
The last few weeks at work have been like a retro disease fest, people with whooping cough, Pneumonia, various forms of flu, colds galore, chest infections, mumps (ffs!).. bird flu coming up... what the fuck is going on?!

I'm glad to report I am fit and healthy today and I didn't have to catch the packed train

I feel your pain. I too have to suffer on the Northern line. Half of my office is ill. The people I live with are ill too. It's a wonder I'm not ill yet (touch wood).
I have been taking these things which I swear help you stay well.
And I'm the firmest believer in 'real science'

Prehaps the email I sent round the office last week will cheer you up dear boy... Or enrage you...:
ME: "Why is everyone here who is clearly ill with something nasty?! It's beyond selfish. When I get chest infections, I suffer badly with asthma which is not at all pleasant not to mention dangerous.
Perhaps I should go home if you all insist on coming in."
Them:
"I don't think people are coming in purposefully to try to make you ill. Given the choice I think they would rather stay at home too, but with current workload and pressures unfortunately people have had to come in. If you haven't noticed, when people are ill and out it puts immense pressure on those that are well... so if you would rather people stay off when ill, pulling a bit more weight to relieve the workload may help you get your wish."
-----I'm plotting murder most horrid in my spare time now.
I clearly understand why americans burst into work places and mow down co-workers with guns.

sounds like no one at your workplace has a sense of humour – maybe a whip but definitely no humour.
Maybe this heartwarming story will cheer you up:

You see Rasko, it's just the way society is these days - shite.
A job is not permited to be a simple exchange for money anymore. You have to love it, be commited to it, and be rewarded for bravely doing your job while the snow builds up, you have flu, your wife is having a baby and you first born is in hospital - but you are a STAR, young man, for you came in against all odds and society will love you for it.
