mattyd, Belichick did that on purpose. He didn't want to play the Steelers first round of the playoffs. Rather he send us to Cincy to lose, which obviously didn't happen.
4 Playoff Road wins. Most by double digits, would have also beat Indy by double digits too, if not for that freak fumble and sh*t call on that Polamalu INT.
That's all I'm saying.

i actually heard an interesting theory this morning. and it is what it is, a theory. so, i don't want anyone calling me out as this conspiracy nut or anything.
but, could it have been possible that the NFL did heavily lean on the refs to make calls in favor of pittsburg? when you think about it, the merchandise machine is a big cash cow for the NFL. if the seahawks win that super bowl, the memorabilia isn't going to sell anywhere near as well as it will in pittsburg.
it is always assumed that the NFL is going to bend over backwards for the mannings (for peyton and eli --allowing eli to completely boycott a team that was going to draft him). the NFL practically gift wrapped this super bowl for the colts at the beginning of the year. it was fairly obious from the onset that the NFL was looking for the 'peyton finally does it!' storyline. but, what they keep forgetting to factor into the equation is that peyton is a choker (he'll win one eventually, but after this year, one has to wonder). the steelers just came in and wiped their ass with the colts. back to the drawing board for the NFL. who to ride now? why not the cinderella team? hey, that jerome bettis hasn't won one has he? let's ride that!
there is definitely the fact that the seahawks lost it themselves. no doubt. the steelers didn't make enough mistakes to blow it. but, if that pass interference penalty isn't called, pitt is a little more demoralized. if that holding call isn't made, seattle is up by 4.

conspiracy theories are ok, but there is no Michael Jordan rules in the NFL. Don't really think the NFL gave a crap. Steeler gear is gonna' sell bigtime no matter what. You have to understand that most young people take off from here and head to other more 'happening' cities. Hence, why so many fans were there and there's a Steeler bar or two in every big city in the US. It's just fun.

it's cause your teams didn't win it. I'm ok with a parade outside my work window tomorrow. and the fact that Shaun Alexander didn't even get 100 yards.
AFC was better than the NFC this year, so it seems fitting to me.

They BOOOOOOOOOOO'D Brady, but in this town, it's not like what Philly fans do, it's more of a respect thing. You love and hate Brady. He's great in that system though.
