True Mr Snuggles. I just wanted to make a thread that's actually about design.
I like D&AD's definition/criteria:
"A good idea, well executed and appropriate to the medium and message"
I can't beat that as a definition of what good design is to me.

Not sure I agree with that Mr S.
You could write a note clearly on a Post-It for you flat mate. He would understand the message perfectly and yet I don't see that as being design.
It should be more considered than that. An idea, well executed. ie " what is the best medium for the message, where should it be positioned, what colour post-it. What is the best way to get his attention. If I wrote the message on a can of beer would he be more likely to notice it etc.
