its not so much the sit ups that give you a 6 pack, its actually body fat that you need to loose that is sorounding the 6 pack. beleive it or not if you just removed that fat now, you would have a 6 pack without doing sit ups!. certainly sit ups help define them more, but ultimatly you need to loose the body fat that sits in between them. so change your diet and start some cardo/weight loss training, but dont concentrate on just sit ups as that wont do it.

i am 6' and 175lb. so i don't consider myself fat. i need to work out and be mean and lean. build up muscles and shit.

easier said than done, plus your metabolism is getting slower each day. I would eat 5 times a day if you can, small nutritious meals, that'll speed you up.

Spot reduction is a Myth. You can do thousands of sit-ups and your belly will still have a layer of fat covering your well defined, toned abs. Cardio is the key.
