I've been asked to design a look book for a clothing company but i don't really know book design, or have an resources. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm also looking for companies that print the books. Any help would be peachy!

look book doesn't always mean an actual book. maybe its more of a brochure or even online. How many pieces in the collection?

its gonna be an actual lookbook, spiral bound, something like 20 pieces. i helped do all the production/line sheets and all the graphics for the clothing. So its definatley more than a brochure.

(usually in clothing featured phtograph)important thing is that how the season collection portray a lifestyle of the line. as in fashion its usually done in photographs.
the look book in essence is how the clothing is put together.
take a look at american apperal gallery. that portrays lifesytle and image of the porduct.
you may think its a catalouge but it can be both. except catalogue focuses on the product as an item rather than product combined to pull togther as an item

thats good insight. my client has already hired a photographer. i just have to put all the elements together. This should be interesting.

if you could get a hands on it, go to American Apparal look book, they have it in the store. Well it also doubles as catalouge..
well, if you go to any high end shops, they tend to have look book instead of catalouge..
Tiffnay's has a catalouge and also a look book. LV has a great one. I seen one few days ago. Gucci and Prada ones are very hard to come by.

Hey guys I'm interested in making a few paper, glossy, look books with photographs of my father's oil on canvas art. I need something I can use as a catalog to bring in to galleries. I would prefer to not have spiral bound.
I'm the photographer so I have the high res pics.
The pages should include the main painting and maybe some close-ups to show texture.I also want text that show dimensions, titles, technique, dates and maybe prices of each painting.
Have any recommendations in SoCal or online where I can place an order for a sample?
