no not at all vespa.
But not if I'm going through an area where i know that there are a lot of people very desperate for easy money, when walking through such a part of town it's generally better not to appear too affluent.
Were I a girl, there's no way I'd want to run the gauntlet of a Friday night crowd at kicking out time with only 100 gramms of chiffon to seperate me from them
Again, rape is always entirely inexcusable.

yes, the rest of you are complete cunts, and fucking disgusting.
Here's a FACT for the idiots focusing on womens dress (and by the way, you're just stressing the point that the findings of that survey could just as easily be applied to the US as Britain)
THE OVERWHLEMING MAJORITY OF WOMEN WHO ARE RAPED, ARE RAPED BY MEN THEY HAVE KNOWN FOR A LONG TIME, AND SAY THAT THEY TRUSTED COMPETELY, UNTIL THAT POINT.
Now fuck off with your, how women dress bullshit.

just dont let your idealisms lead you into naivety.
there be dark forces out there, ahaarggh.

KuzII speaks from experience and vespa is a "typical" woman
sorry if i don't have insight on this matter. i can control myself so no first hand experience here
yeah vespa, i said typical and i meant it, you know none of those that have participated in this thread appreove of rape and that we all feel women get the short end of the stick in such cases
but yes check the statistics, i linked 5 sites earlier, the ones getting raped more often are the younger more attractive white women
to say dress has nothing to do with it is ignorant

no means no people

pretty women dressed conservatively get harassed all the time too.
however, you can't disregard the fact that a less attractive woman dressed half naked is attempting to get some tongue wagging attention from the opposite sex. She'll find it, but she's probably going about it the wrong way and attracting the wrong type of person, don't you think?
Does that lead directly to rape? no... and you're right, rape is indiscriminate. especially when it's dark, and some sicko sees a female outline in a park or something and acts solely on that. nothing to do with dress there.
i think a lot of people here are thinking situationally (ie: a girl getting hammered at a frat house, a friend's party, club, etc) rather than in broad daylight.the act is wrong any way you slice it.
the world would be better off without the kind of people acceptant/sympathetic of it.
end of story.

i know there are dark forces out there rasko, believe.
but the dark forces exist whether or not women wear short skirts.
yep, i'm a typical woman like you're a typical bloke version3, i guess we're both just cunts huh?
good night.

you all seem to carry all this hollywood style media sensationalist nonsence that most rapes happen in some dark woods by some pervert. That is not the case. Most rapes are unreported because women feel humiliated by the fact that it was done by someone they trusted very much, and cared about.
Now why u'd focus on that tiny percentage who are the victims of some psycho, and ignore the much bigger and closer to home occurence of the incidence....

KuzII,
I am just curious as to why you refuse to see that we are saying that dress never justifies rape.
We are simply commenting on dress equaling a perception. If you look at the article, it is about PERCEPTION that some men have to justify rape.
All we seem to be saying, and talking about is that everyone is still somewhat responsible for the image that they present. That's it, not that it justifies anything. Simply that, sorry, just cause a woman shouldn't be made an object, doesn't make it so.

(Nov 21 05, 09:46)lol, jesus, there's some real shortfall in your comprehension and extrapolation of statistics!

hehe cheers vespa,
I'll be sure to wear all 7 ;)
But seriously it has to be one of the most horrfic and traumatic experiences that a human being can be put through. In no way did I want to trivialise it.
anyway off home now with my sleeves rolled down.

if a prostitute doesn't get paid does she claim rape?
i've seen these rape charges cases around me, i do alot of design for a local college and several of the fraternities and sororities
being close friends with a sorority house i heard alot of the girl talk that i shouldn't have been privy to
one of the most disturbing stories ive ever heard regarding rape is that a girl was going to file rape charges against the guy she cheated on her boyfriend with the night before so that the biyfriend would hate the guy and not break up with her in the process
now that is some evil keniving shit that only a damn good lawyer could protect you from and you need it here in the heartland.
the guy is looking at a criminal record so the chick can keep her boyfriend
i dount its the first time its happened and i doubt its the last
i believe this story too because the girls were sayin gthat this girl was fucking up and doing the wrong thing
- KuzII0
Luckypp, what you seem to fail to understand, that there has never been a link to what women wear and rape. This is an imaginary link in the minds of you people who blame the victim (i.e women) for the crimes of men.
Same old story, and entirely false.
Trust me, if there was some psycho in some woods out to rape, he wouldn't wait for the slutiest looking chick just so he can say "yeah, well she asked for it dressing like that".
- vespa0
really version3, that's the most disturbing rape story you could come up with? hey there wasn't even a rape involved!
NOB.
night kuz

I am surprised vespa, MX, and rasko4 would post in this thread!!! I regard you people as intelligent.
Surprised very surprised indeed.
- Luckypp0
KuzII,
I agree with you, but you are also ignoring the fact that men have used dress as a reason or vehicle for their actions.
While most rape does occur as you have described, with a person they know and trust - not all does.
Long story short, if you read my posts you would see that I don't think that dress ever justifies rape, in fact I don't think rape is ever justified, save child molesters getting it in prison, but that's another story.
Going off and calling us all cunts was pretty brash and reactionary.

not that i believe someone who flirts should be sexually assorted to any degree but in "britain" women do wear like a "belt" and high heels even on a northern snowing freezing nite - drinking is out of control which is used as an excuse, and conviction rates are just pathetic sending out its not a real crime.
girls need to minimize the risk, i know hookers that wouldnt even where dresses as short as i have seen at the meat market nigthclubs of the south east
- chossy0
can I just lighten the thread a little by pointing out that obese ninja said sexually 'assorted' he he made me laugh.
- oBeseLilNinja0
lol

ay you are looking at 2 pictures of the same guy, one in a sweater, one sweating after a workout, the 2 images give a different hormonal response, you are more sexually attracted to the hsirtless one than where he is covered
version3
(Nov 21 05, 09:34)Actually, I'm quite surprised as to how many girls I know who want shirtless guys to cover up. I don't mind if he's attractive, but, ummm...there is a surprising amount of women who like it when guys have shirts on, especially in public.
