What would you recommend to see and do when visiting? I am looking for insider info to supplement the travel sites I've been looking at.

If your outdoorsy, go north - if you like a night out, stick to the big cities (glasgow/edinburgh), if you value your life and youthful good looks, do not venture forth into the streets in Perth of a night.
got that? NOT Perth.

avoid Dundee at all costs, it may be the city of discovery but all you'll discover there is gut rot.
This leaves more or less Aberdeen, Embra, Glasgow and Inverness in alaphabetical order which coincidentally is also in order of coolness.

ock eye a noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ye chilli jock frootbats. ock aye a nooooooooooooooooooooow. scotland was a gas, i was there doing 6 risk management seminars at inveresness ? and the lake district(much the same)- lots of cider ,sheep and wife swaping and horse stealing. ye can get a drink anywhere on the street as long as you say OCK AYE A NOOOOOOOOOOOO after it. OCK AYE A NOOOOOOOOOO.

I couldn't believe how many awesome looking castles were listed on that site. It must be amazing to live in a country where you can see things like that regularly.
I'm in Illinois. All we have to look at is cornfields.
