i've heard from a lot of my friends living up there that its tough to trust anyone and to make new, regular friends because everyone's so absorbed in trying to make their rent and take care of themselves on the one hand and socially just really pretentious

I went to nyc a few times and noticed a lot of native new yorkers are cool, where as many of the transplants (especially girls) think they are the chicks from sex in the city or friends some shit.
