but Halo is around 20 years ahead of your times..
In around 15 years you will be able to use what it was known as Playstation
made by Sony, I know it sounds weird, Sony doing video games.. but you will see..
good luck mate!

both titles you mentioned originated on consoles and were ported to the pc.

but regardless, these console shooting games are commonly played with keyboard and mouse so none of it is relevant

the xbox will be much more than a gaming box... the new media extender capabilities will be awesome... you guys should read up.
... but I still think Sony will have the edge... without a handheld in the market, MS loses in the wifi content battle which will become very important in the next couple of years.

The bottom line is, Im the genious, everyone is a moron, end of discussion

all i have to say is, if it's going down, it better watch the teeth, alright.

Freddy, convergences is a load of shit. Even the PS2's dvd capabilities are overlooked. Tell me how many people use the PS2 over a regular ol' DVD player? Not a lot besides the desperate.
People are gonna stick with they Tivo's and Stereos and DVD players.
- version30
hey fate i'm a user of the ps2 dvd option
no where near desperate
but i play a lot of race games so i stick with it
- scarabin0
i disagree
i own 0 dvd players and three ps2, precisely for the reason that why would i buy a dvd player when i can have a ps2 for the same price
the same thing goes for the ps3 but on a much. much larger scale. a blu-ray player retails for over 3000 dollars and the ps3 will be less than 1000 dollars. tellme, which is the more logical choice here
- kveldulfr_fou0
There u have it, there some typical console games (racing games) and pc-games (shooters). Pc games can tend to be more advanced because of the more advanced controls as compaired to gamepads
- scarabin0
i think xbox will definitely sell more than ps3, for the price reason alone. it looks like righht now the xbox will sell for about 400 bucks while ps3 could be anywhere from 400-1000 bucks.
in the end though, the ps3 will have much much more powerful technology, better graphics, and better games.
ps3 will probably be for hardcore gamers and people with more money (adults and technophiles)
it'll be like pc vs mac

kveldulfr_fou, shut up
FPS are easier on my 21" monitor with my mouse/joystick but way funner on the 60" widescreen with all my friends on the couch
i own both xbox and ps2, they both have thier ups and downs

(Aug 20 05, 15:03)The most logical choice is to replace everything in your house with a pc. Its allinone

I didn't read any of the posts apart from the first one because I can't be bothered. So...
Fuck off.

(Aug 20 05, 15:08)yeah, and that's what next gen consoles are doing. it's called convergence and you were just bashing it
- scarabin0
oh my bad, kveldulfr_fou i thought fate was posting that
- fate_0
Yeah, I'm the one that doesn't care for convergence :p
Note: Most consoles launch at $400-$500. It has been the trend for many years. Above that, and you scare off even early adopters.
The price is still FAR below an equivalently matched PC, if we were to compare the PS3's power to a PC. Plus they don't crash, don't get viruses...Consoles just work.
