(Aug 18 05, 14:39)That's why I left the Bay Area 4 years ago - bought in LA while it was still relatively cheap - sold 2 years later with a handsome profit - goodbye CA.

I live right next to Sausalito. In Mill Valley. If you are thinking of working there, it is a great small town. Very Beutiful. But also if you are thinking of working there you should check out other areas such as Mill Valley, Larkspur Novato. The commute wouldnt be bad from those areas.

Also ya, you wont find a place under 500k. And if you want something that is sorta around that price you need to go north like up to Petaluma.

cheers don
mill valley looks pretty too- I had an aunt who lived there for many years...
Guess we'll just have to rent a car and do some driving

You looking to move to the bay area jevad?
- mg330
Jevad just don't move to Oakland!
- Gorbie0
hey!!! i was born in the O.
don't clown the town. :P

Oakland/Berkeley rocks - I'd rather live there than Sausalito. More going on, great restaurants.
- jevad0
arthur - it's suddenly become a very high possibility

That would be cool. I'd rent for awhile first and take your time looking for a place. If 500k is seeming high to you, you might find yourself moving a bit out of the city, either north (petaluma/santa rosa) or west of Concord in the boonies for a single detached home. I'm not sure what loft/townhouse prices are these days though.
I've got 28 years of bay area experience if you need anything.
- arthur0
I meant east of Concord.

arthur cheers man - really appreciate it.
talking about it this evening we pretty much decided not to sell out place here and rent for a while. 2 dogs and 2 cats means we'll be looking for a yard and so somewhere out of the city but close is desireable...san mateo...sausalito...places like that

Nice - I grew up in San Mateo. Poplar Ave. Ain't cheap anymore. Look up some prices.
The whole peninsula is hella pricy.

seems like we're gonna have to suck it up!
