Going surfing for the 1st time on Thursday. I skate and snowboard but I know it's a lot different.
Any hints from some peeps who may now a trick or two?

awesome dude - have fun!
between now and then do this:
lie on your stomach and practice jumping up to your feet. keep your knees bent and your centre of gravity...um...centered. throw your arms out to balance. crouch. back foot flat, front foot pointing down teh face of the wave.
you're gonna bail man and you're gonna swallow water...but you will get it...so don't give up...because when you ride that first wave you'll never look back

yeah tkmeister... i know it's gonna be damn hard. I just really want to get it. I know I won't be pro style but it's be nice to go out and catch some waves now and then.

like learning to ride a bike when you were a kid or learning how to transfer your weight edge to edge on a snowboard - the more you do it the more natural it becomes...
