Bringing up quantum physics into a discussion about religion and spiritually is instantly off putting.
Quantum science is right at the very edge of our knowledge, and the smartest minds on this planet are finding fascinating things in this field - things that are almost impossible to break down and describe. Yet somehow there's a bunch of uber smarty pants spiritual people out there that think they know all about it.
- bringing up science at all is off-putting for me. you can't prove OR disprove the supernatural with physical means.SteveJobs
- but quantum physics is the same as quabbalah! something something dimensions!scarabin
- you can't prove the supernatural by ANY means, but you can certainly disprove it with scientific meansmonospaced

- what an unread bunch. where did science come from?yurimon
- wizards, right? no, atlanteans. lizard people?scarabin
- tell me if i'm getting warmerscarabin
- You really truly think that because some ancient religious roots had some scientific inklings that they created science? Please.monospaced
- Science wasn't created as much as it is a simple definition of what we commonly call "figuring shit out."monospaced
- You really truly think that because some ancient monkeys had some monkey sex inklings that they created human primates? Please.yurimon
- Are you being serious Yurimon?Morning_star
- sadly, yesscarabin
- hehe, you guys dont get the pun? hows your understanding on progression of ideas? ideas are like sex. the intermingle and birth new ones. so do understand theyurimon
- progression?yurimon
- The evolution of ideas is one thing but you were not talking about 'ideas'.Morning_star
- ideas build on the past. sometimes one idea builds on the other. so you have an evolution type effect where one idea may not exist without a previous idea asyurimon
- its foundation. so the sex metaphor in how concepts integrate and reproduce in evolution type matter. thus making previous statement mockery.yurimon
- most religious folks I know / grew up with embrace this science... they feel it brings them closer to God and only strengthens their faith in his creative powerPonyBoy

- What if you don't like dogs? Did heaven just get a little worse for you?********
- Also, we can presume this means that dogs can also go to hell. You had better start taking your dog to church! Make sure your dog partakes in Holy Communion!********

“Religious liberty” advocate Ted Cruz says atheists aren’t fit to be president...
- If anything atheists are the most fit.monospaced

Jennifer Lawrence removed from Israeli Hunger Games posters
“We discovered that public posters with the image of a female are often torn down in Jerusalem, while Bnei Brak does not allow posters with female images,” a representative of the film’s Israeli PR firm said to Ynet.

the isis kkk comparison is bullshit, we're talking about a few rednecks in the southern US decades ago vs a modern terrorist group with a global reach.
There are no KKK sleeper cells in the middle east and elsewhere bombing and terrorising innocent people in the name of the grand wizard dragon or whatever the fuck they believe in.
And Christianity has 100's of denominations, it's like saying mormons don't represent all christians, it's true but they're still christians. Same as ISIS, they don't represent all muslims but they're still muslim and worse, they carry out these attacks in the name of islam which fucks it up for rest of them.
And Last I checked the KKK has been reduced to a side-show on jerry springer, great steps have been taken to destroy that orginization and it's pretty much dead which is more than we can say for ISIS.
- not commenting on Scarabin's post above I know it's funny, but I see this sort of comment everywhere as almost a justification for not opposing isis_niko
- yeah it's not a super accurate metaphorscarabin
- I appreciate your balanced thinking here, _nikoPonyBoy
- Also, I think if you look back in history, you'll find a bunch of moderate Christians that DID actively work to undermine and dismantle the KKK.********
- Just as you can probably find lots of muslims fighting against ISIS. But, you're right, comparing ISIS with KKK is flawed for many reasons.********
- Most people can't name the Christian terror groups of central Africa and India that have been massacring people for the last decade. But they exist.i_monk

- The crux of most religions I would say. But one has the right to defend themselves. People get hurt that way.MakeBelieve
- Unfortunately all cults are asinine!utopian
- What constitutes "hurting people"? Is not helping people hurting them? What about letting them suffer under a brutual regime while you enjoy a life of comfort?********
- Sometimes minding your own business is the best thing to do. Helping people "under a brutal regime" is what created ISIS.Milan

- The only way you can compare things is if they are the same. science is a process and religions are philosophies. This comparison is moronic.Morning_star
- Morning Star ???
Religion is Philosophy ??? Tell us more about that !gonzalle - religion has battled science since it's creation. so science vs religion fitshotroddy
