nic has a good idea. another option. challenge to dual. give him a 9mm (with blanks) and tell him that you'll just use a broomstick. back to back. 25 paces. turn. he'll start shooting and just start running towards him screaming like a crazy person. beat the hell out of him with the broomstick.

veraicon, I respect your views, but they aren't necessarily utilitarian ideals. I believe it really depends on the individual's emotional composition. Everyone deals with this stuff differently...and some go to prison over it.
