what he has done with brand is nothing new, he seems to make companies and thats about it.
using experience is a holistic brand has been around since mid 90s pioneered by the book experience economy written by some havard fellows.
if he was the pioneer for using other cultural medium as a marketing tool, i would say no since he is only responsible for the niche market it self. when niche market becomes a mass market, it does not validate that he was the one who made that happen.

i'm not an expert on Gensler's work or anything, but...
I don't see how this really helps anyone other than their crew.
Gensler has some interesting ideas that seem pertinent to youth culture and marketing in general, but it seems like just another way to market un-needed items.
I'd love to get beers wth the guy and be convinced otherwise, so my ears and mind are open....

basically my point is that even with rocawear gensler did nothing but pump out 1 half-decent print campaign and a half-decent website... that's all i saw...

David Gensler is a leech, he has no conscience and cares for nothing but the money, he would promote satanic blood letting for the right dollar amount, and bring it to you like " hip!" "fresh!".
