-occasional moire (rare)Personally I don't like nikons. Their service people well worked for that.
So my opinion is biased :)
Also, I like the canon shutter sound better.
For portability, pick 350D and get a better lens.

digi can never go even closer to 35mm velvia :)
I scann my slides with my coolscan 5000.. no raw file can come closer
- nachkebia0
canon shutter... ooh nooo!! pleasee!! it sounds like factory main entrance! no please! I might have to kill somebody

hahaha.. I can't help it :)
I liked 10D better than 20D though
350D sounds like laser beam ;)
- kld0
you didn't just call me vulva? JK :)
Anyways I love my digi and if I need better res I just rent a hasselblad
- nachkebia0
shaft : common man :)
how can you like canon! and be designer? when you hold it, it feels like holding dead womans breast!
- nachkebia0
yap.. bad thing is I can not rent hasselblad here.. so I might have to get it in couple of months
- spiralstarez0
nachkebia,
reccomend a good telephoto zoom lens to get for my d70?
- nachkebia0
70-200 2.8 VR
- shaft0
I'm not calling myself a designer :)
I like canon ergonomics better too, but it's a personal preference.
I'll be probably buying a pentax soon anyways. I'm not a pro photographer and I want my camera to be small.
Pentax is almost pocket size, has a big viewfinder and fully supports old lenses, both K and M42 - it'll be fun!
- nachkebia0
new pentax is comming then, whatch out :)

hmm, this tread made a wrong turn somewhere..
Rand. From what I read from you I think the right camera for you is the Nikon D70. I have one and love it.
If you have 5 hours to waste, You should read this to make up your mind (D70 vs 20D)
- nachkebia0
kenrockwell is da man :)
- kld0
how much do you want to spend and how much tele you want?
- spiralstarez0
nach,
looks good, anything that is a little bit more hobo priced? Ken Rockwell advises on a used 70-200 but I haven't found any of those used around here...
- nachkebia0
watch out though, those are expensive, I paid for mine around 1700$....
- spiralstarez0
yeah I'm looking at more $500 and under range...
I dig photography but amateur.
