  Canon:
  -bigger, bright viewfinder
  - max ISO3200, very good ISO1600
  -4fps
  -magnesium body
  -8MP

  Nikon:
  -tiny tunell-like viewfinder
  -max ISO1600, a bit noisy
  -3 fps
  -plastic body
  -6MP
  -occasional moire (rare)

  Personally I don't like nikons. Their service people well worked for that.
  So my opinion is biased :)
  Also, I like the canon shutter sound better.
  For portability, pick 350D and get a better lens.
