neat work, just out of interest though, is your site sponsored by MT?
- Chip0
not sponsored, no.
I just dumped the logo there.

Not trying to harp on your Chip :)
I'm just curious. Why a blog for that? I've seen a few portfolios lately as blogs, with commenting available.
I'm interested in two things.
1) Did you choose a blog because archiving, and managing content was built in? (A CMS system, essentially, without needing to "build" the site)
2) Did the ability for viewers to comment on your work have anything to do with it? I only ask this because we are all very used to web based portfolios without comments. Think about threadless - seeing other people's comments does, IMO, have an affect on your like/dislike of a submission (subconsciously, I think).
I guess the first thought that hit me was that when your work is done, you're proud of it, and it's posted to a site, that's it.
But when people can comment on it, might that have an affect on the designer, positive or negative, that sort of changes the balance of being sure of your work?Just curious about your choice, that's all. :)
My only suggestion would be to make the full images links to the actual site, or move the "link to site" link above the description and make it a little more pronounced below the picture. It kind of seems like an afterthought with it at the bottom, when the most advantageous thing would be to take us to the actual site or full size image.

Nice comments, thanks.
I choose a blog for the reasons you mention.
I'm sick of trying to add work to a flash folio and I really wanted something easy to use, searchable and group-able.
I'm not a technical person, so doing my own was not an option.
Movable type seemed a good choice.Your second question:
To be honest, I did not really think about the commenting much, but I think any comments are good for me, good or bad.I agree on your last point, I'm planning on making the images linkable.
Thanks !

Cool :) That's what I was looking for. It is nice, then, that if your technical bg is not too great, there are things like that to help you manage your content.
I agree about Flash, too. Even if you're good with Flash, unless you really know how to build a site for ease of updating, it can be a pain. In fact, probably the last time I really used Flash was at least a year ago or maybe more, when I wanted to set up a DB based image gallery but just didn't have the AS knowhow to do it.
I still only have Flash 5!
