Oh God, went to my car today and found out it got tolled. I haved to pay at least $1,200 total!
$850 in parking tickets
$350 for towing
and additional fees each day it's on the lotOh god. The system is screwing me once again.

The alternate parking in nyc is a pain in the ass. You have to move your car every week for street sweeping.
A few months ago, I got 5 consecutive parking tickets without knowing. I figured I wouldn't get caught but I did!

I left the country, leaving behind 3 unpaid parking tickets. WHen I got back, five years later, they took away my license!
took me months and big $ to straighten it out.in other words, dont bother,
you dont have to pay parking tickets.

they towed my car so I have no choice. I have to pay, and the sooner the better since they'll be charging more fines on a daily basis.

towing sucks. they charge you for sundays but sometimes you cant get it til monday. sux0r.

here in Reykjavik you get 50% off the ticket if you pay within 3 days.. always makes me pay up

haha i drove my buddy across town to the lot after his car was towed, he pays the dude and says 'so can i have my keys'

i came out of my friends house at like 330 am to fins my car GONE because it was th enight before the marathon. (you usually could park there)
so i see a cop and i say "excuse me officer if my car was here - did it get towed?"
he says "yes call here blablabla" and my friend who iwas driivng home starts saying "ohhh man youre gonna have to pay liek $500 all in cash blablabl"so im walking back to my friends apartment all sad and the cop says "wait a minute look down these sidestreets they may have just moved it"
lo and behold they just towed my car to soem sidestreet!!! I LOVE THIS TOWN

the part that bothers me is that someone must have called to complain about my car. there were no street signs, and i'm not sure how often cops drive around analyzing someone's plate for a ticket. someone must have called

You have $850 worth of tickets and you are blaming the city for screwing you? I know alternate side of the street sucks but come on dude, its not that hard to look at a sign and know when you cant park there. Besides, just pay the ticket on time and you wont have any problems. You can even do it online.
Anyone complained about you. Cops drive around all the time checking out plate numbers for tickets. Thats how the city makes its money.

Got towed in Tokyo last month. Overstayed a meter by 15 minutes! Came back, car was gone, they wrote where it went to on the pavement in chalk and put a number to call. Went to the local police station, paid 14,000 Yen (140 dollars) and drove away.
Then got a 200 dollar towing fee from the tow company they used.Total damage: 340 dollars and 2 points on my license.

I parked on a curb like any other spot, but there's a faded yellow stripe on it that I didn't see, and it was during winter.
Went to my car and saw piles of tickets on my car. I have an out of state plate, and I knew people who got away with it. I didn't know these bastards had to analyze my f@#@$# plate.
