Whats the story with Mike Cina on final scratch anyway? He spins on the side too? And what was the picture with all the game boys, what was going on there?
- NegativeSpace0
Mike Cina was running final scratch on an HP laptop, this was the Stanton version (if I am not mistaken there is some new Traktor one?)
He was spinning ambient tunes (and as far as his spinning goes I knew he said he used to spin house music, was a few mixes floating around a while back).
and Young was on the Powerbook doing the visuals.
The gameboys where from the Bit Shitfer performance. I don't know too much about him but I guess he uses gameboys to play 8 bit sounds, Im not too sure on the cartridge thing he had plugged into them or what he plugged those into.
The beside Bit Shifter was Robert Hodgin who was using those glowing blue dials to control visuals in Processing that were moving to the Bit Shifter music.

I guess I didn't miss anything then at Flower in the Cornhole..
The Cina and Bit shifter things sound kinda lame :(

I just get a kick out of watching people "play" a computer.

120 bucks for a 3 day flash/design festival, after party, and award show is pretty reasonable if you ask me.
- mg330
but not if all the guys end up so sexually desperate that they start slipping roofies in each other's drinks.
- Citizen010
120$ was definitely reasonable.
Many designers had incredible ideas to share, specifically ones that I'm sure many certainly did not consider in their own thought processes. Plus various methods to optimize ones workflow.
Most definitely, I could just looked up stuff on the internet, but I highly doubt I would've even thought of looking up some of the various ideas that many of the designers tried bringing up in their presentations.
On a sidenote, James Paterson was a riot.

thank goodness there are no pics of our presentation..
on another note.. i totally blew some guy off after we talked and i feel sick about it. if he is on this board.. please email me. im a douchebag.cananda is so nice and clean. if it wasnt so fucking expensive, id go there all the time.

upso, your presentation was really interesting, really neat way to display information and connections. I would have had some but my friend borrowed my cam for another presentation at the same time.
I didn't catch whether Gravity was online, or was going online?
- upso0
it'll be online soon.. just a few bugs to tweak.
