Thanks Nownotyet. Thats the kind of concerns that worry me. He must be one confused kid. Not surprised if he became aetheist either. I mean, imagine not going to church together because you disagree about another way of practicing their beliefs. What happens to the kids and what kind of relationship does that turn into?

my point was essentially this;
IMAX made a business desicion based on the local culture.
and that religious people are commonly stereotyped as being close minded, but it's not just them...

Well, it just seems to me that back in the biblical days, before there was a lot of scientific explanations on how things worked, people beleived that an almighty being created it all and it never really wore off for some people.

Pointing fingers, insulting and being arrogantly opposed to other people's views doesn't change anyone's mind- it only hurts the world and any chance we have to end hatred.

Thats true kezza, not the only reason of course, but true. I mean this discussion is ages old, but it comes up because its unresolved. Its not something that people do not think about nowadays either until the matter becomes your own.
Most people do not think about it unitl they get into it. i just thought about this 2 yrs into my relationship while pondering what life would be like in the future. To say that this is some old bs debate and just squash it is a poor response. I just wish it were that simple.

true. but here's what i think
science and the bible are not mutually exclusive. Science explains why things happen in todays world.
it's the "how it all came about" that they have a disagreement on.
by the way...just to cite something interesting; the bible called the world a "sphere", during a time when people thought the earth was flat.
