I'm searching for a print design job in philly? Are you looking solely for web?

is the work creative, or corporate?
- yarsrevenge0
The work is both creative and corporate for online. All in all, it less corporate than creative.
Print designers may apply, but there will no print work. We like to focus on a designer's ability to design, so we hire people focused on what they do best, design.... not a jack of all trades doing code, design, motion design, sales...etc.

Sure.... the company is Comcast for here in their headquarters office in downtown Philadelphia for the online division. We are expanding rapidly and need to fill such positions soon.
I hope that helps.

Sounded good until you said Comcast
- yarsrevenge0
why is that?

Most here in Philly consider Comcast the devil. I am not sure how it is around the office where you work-
but their exaggerated prices
city wide monopoly on Cable (ever try to watch TV in Philly without Comcast? And what are your options? Unless you live in the city- Comcast or fuck you)
Poor customer service
(I once threatened to switch to Satellite due to Comcast costs- the person on the phone said, "Good luck with that.")--
The whole operation seems way more corporate than creative- someday Comcast will simply BUY Philly- Comcastadelphia-
Of course I know nothing of the position and the inside view but that is how they appear on the outside...

Ive actually been on both sides of the fence... from the inside it looks fine and dandy. Like any other company, it always looks for ways to expand or further itself above the competition... this applies to almost any business. With this mindset, you obviously have to facilitate a production team capable of giving the user a valuable product. It has been proven that it is not the what the speed of your connection or what you pay... it is what you do with this service. There is a reason why Comcast made it in the top Wired 40 companies for 2005... and it is not because of a "monopoly". Verizon is offered as well as others in Philly. I'd go with Comcast any day... just did, dropped verizon.

I have been using Comcast Cable internet since it started () and let me say the it was a bumpy ride at the beginning, being a mac user didn't help (they knew absolutely nothing about Macs and couldn't understand how I can get online without installing software)- but now a days the service is mostly on the money- alot of money. I pay over $120.00 a month for cable and internet. Sure- I dont need HBO and all that but I have it.
The Monopoly reference was regarding the Cable service more than the internet service. If Philadelphia you can only view 3 snowy channels without cable- and only in certain areas (mostly the suburbs) do you have a choice of providers-
Again it's Comcast or fuck you.
In my expierence sonce they know you have no choice they take advantage of it. Not until the growth of the Dish have they shown any respect for people like me who give them close to $1500.00 a year. Do a Google search for "Comcast Sucks" and 128,000 others will tell you the same.
I use the connection only- I have only been to their website three times ever. Personally I think it is bloated with pointless bandwidth hogging features and is less organized than AOL. I do not use their email service, web space, or corney things like video email and all that so I have no comment on any of it.

comcast sux in the bay area too. luckily i had a choice and switched to RCN for everything: cable, internet and telephone and it's cheaper.
comcast in the bay area has uneven service even in regards to the channels it offers. check it out: http://tinyurl.com/5ugmg
and when talking to comcast customer service it's clear they focus on getting new customers and once you on a subscriber you are on the back burner

I get consistent 3850 down/385 up, with no downtime. On the other hand it costs me 95. a month
