i take credit for inventing the term "whorable"...
...it came about during a monster hangover. The type of horrible hangover that only a hooker could get.
*no offence to any hookers intended*

Yes, it is enjoyable and difficult at times. We've been together since Dec 03 when we first started working with songs I had been writing.
All three of us have been in bands before and live/breath music.
We're all in late 20s, and took the approach that if we want to make something with music, now is the time to try our best at it.
Making music comes very natural, I don't know if it does to the other two, but to me at least it does. I often hear dozens of songs, lyrics, arrangements floating around my head all day long. For the most part it is easy to realise them.
The hard part is bringing them to life but not dictating what the others do 100%. We have been having some difficulty with that lately. It's just one of those things.
We've had two succesfull shows with above average crowds for just getting our feet wet locally. Chicago can be tough. You really need something unique to stand out here and from what we've been told (and personally feel ourselves) we're on that track.
The next part is letting that evolve and see how we can make each song different than the one before while keeping the same general idea throughout.Music is an amazing, amazing thing. I could go on for hours and maybe one day I will. The essence for me is that awe-striking connection that even 10 seconds of the right song can have on a person. When you've done that, you've succeeded.

awesome.
it takes a lot of dedication, and that's admirable.
myself, i love music too, but the tunes just don't come out of my head. i wish i had that talent.

I'll tell ya, when I moved here in 2001 I had never perfomed, singing and playing guitar, in front of anyone.
We found a bar in our neighborhood, just by chance, and they had an open mic night on Mondays. I had played guitar for about 10 years already and played guitar in a band in high school for three years.
So I wrote a few things, got up in front of people there and did one on my own, and together with my roommate.
Loved every second of it. Wrote more songs and became a regular on Mondays. That's how I met many of my friends here, the bass player in my band as well. In fact our drummer probably saw me back then and we only first met each other in Dec. 03.I really enjoy playing acoustic guitar and singing, doing solo stuff. It's nice that I had a couple years here to do that, I guess it makes it more comforing to have two more people on stage now. I mean, in many ways I spent the five years in college learning to sing and play at the same time, so it was great to move away from Texas, feel like I was totally starting a new life here, and do things I never would have done in Texas.
I will be putting some of my solo stuff on my mg33.net site soon.
