I wont go into a rant about this so I will just say what we are doing...
actually this is what I came up with....for about a week now people have told me just donate....etc...I think we need to do more
well michael, build just posted http://www.designedtohelp.com
either way they are doing a book that will donate proceeds to charity...
I have a much easier idea that won't take that long and really we only need a few things
- a printing company willing to donate 5,000 or more posters
- a few awesome designs
- unmetered bandwidth
- a way to collect the money and donate it to charity (thinking paypal but that could get messy)please help....you are all talented individuals and I believe that we can help...
I will be posting a site similar to michaels post a little later....

Anyone here work at (MT) or could put us in touch with the right person? (Hey QBN could ya help us out?)
Maybe we could use Madmerch? I know they do on demand posters... but I cant seem to find where to start on http://www.madmerch.com
We need unmetered bandwidth...I don't know how many people will hit up this site and I can't absorb the cost myself totally.
I am also contacting a bunch of print shops
- ethios0
Hopefully (mt) will pick up this worthy cause

ok 1st and foremost ....I need some designs....
Poster size.... I dont know exactly how many we are going to try and print.... if we do one design it will cost the printer less.....and we could mass produce...
If anyone wants to come up with some design ideas be my guest and we can post and all vote on them....I am going to do a couple myself as soon as I get the chance tonight...
In the meantime I need connections to a printer...I just emailed madmerch. We will see what happens with that.
- liquid0
ok I sent an email through their online contact system on (mt)
If anyone knows Demians private email address....or anyone else that matters there.....please forward the following....

Hi, I currently am a customer of yours. (liquidorb.net)I am setting up a website called designforasia.com and the proceeds will be donated to charity. The idea is to sell posters at $10,20,50,100 and donate all of the proceeds to charity.
I could host this as a subdomain and fwd to my website but I am worried about my bandwidth. What I am requesting is to have (MT) sponsor this.
I contacted madmerch for the posters. If you associated with them I want to know if there is something that we can arrange. I am contacting several printers to see if we can do a run of posters. I am also getting people on newstoday.com to design some posters.
I hope you can help. Thanks.

yeah, i find that a bit odd. maybe because of the other post in pbs. sounds kind of similar.sorry i haven't posted anything on NT, i've been really busy here at
work today. i'll try and think of some contacts. i'll get back to you
when i get home tonight.
- liquid0
ok.....
yeah but there were no similar posts a week ago when I started this.....
I am waiting for some responses from (mt)...hopefully QBN reads this...and madmerch...
- liquid0
whats the bounce message
- mattyd0
a sweetass idea would be to play a little photoshop tennis with the poster. we get a list going of people who want to participate. one person starts it and it makes its way to the end, each person adding their own little touch.
- liquid0
THAT IS A SWEET IDEA.....
but whats the poster size gonna be? remember....we have to transfer this file back and forth and it could be really huge....
any ideas on how to handle the size?
- mattyd0
hmm, interesting question. some form of compression is in order. whether it be zipping it or something. if worst comes to absolute worst, we limit the amount of people and just fedex a cd overnight. keep my posted...
- Scottizzle0
id be interested in doing a design for this. let me know.
ill show you work if you want to see it....
- mattyd0
same here

ok heres an idea....we post a low res version when one person is done with it... after people have there comments...etc...then when the person is done with it...after a time limit or something... then we can fedex a disk or throw it up on an FTP somewhere....
we are gonna need (MT) for this..... or QBN...does anyone have any personal contacts with either of them..
- liquid0
hey lvl....
I hope people that I wrote today didnt get that bounce message....that would suck
- mattyd0
sounds like an idea. i think ftp would work best.
- lvl_130
that would suck. what the hell is it anyway?
- liquid0
I didnt increase my quota on my server.....
I am changing it now....
lvl....did you get my email about the dot world?
I need that...I want to use that on the site.....I am doing it tonight....
