America's backward. For such a God-fearing country it's amazing they can do this. They're all going to hell.

Enter response:the problem that a lot of you are overlooking is the enormous backlog of death row inmates in the california system at san quentin. the california system as of '01 (latest on Department of Corrections website) there were 593 inmates on death row. the number has only grown since death penalty was reenacted in 1977 in CA. in all likelyhood scott peterson will die of natural causes and not be executed as is the case with most new death row inmates. so functionally peterson was given a life sentance with more protection on death row than he would get in a normal jail. not to mention he is of high profile and will be given special treatment for years. anyone making the argument that a death sentance saves CA taxpayers money over a life sentance either has great confidence in modern medicine (prolonging life expectancy) or does not understand the current corrections system in the good ol' golden state :)

may i also say that i couldnt believe that the jury found him guilty of murder in the 1st degree. the prosecution didnt have a when, where, how and the 'why' was a little flimsy. a death sentance is even more ridiculous, the jury to reach that verdict must not have a lingering doubt about the case. the prosecution did have a few things going for them, lack of trust in defendant, questionable alibi, lack of compassion for wife, lack of emotion in the trial. that being said it shocks me that in america where we hold law and order in the unmost reguard, i find it insane that a man of any color, creed or background can be sentance to die with out a single shread of physical evidence.
i dont think scott peterson is a great guy but i dont think he was given justice. the jury processed, deliberated and reached a verdict basec on emotion and character evaluation. what a sad day.

hmmmmm, he is a an SOB for sure, but not sure he did it. But if he did, then he should understand the legal system and the penalty to pay for what he did. Whether the Death Penalty is right or wrong.

I have to disagree the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. It puts Scott and Lacie at the scene of her disappearance 100 miles from home where 2 miles away they found Lacie dead.

"Peterson will be sent to death row at San Quentin State Prison within 48 hours, said San Mateo County Sheriff's Lt. Lisa Williams. The infamous lockup overlooks the same bay where Laci Peterson's body was discarded."
is that a movie or whut!

To stir up wrath and take revenge I put her blood on the bare rock, so that it would not be covered.
