... one that doesn't really seem to work.
I think of Sammy 'the bull' Gravona who ratted out his boss. This guy get's the witness protection program back in the 80's... when he was a known murderer(hitman)... only to be set free here in AZ and build one of the largest X and drug rings this states seen...
... meanwhile in CA - Mr. Peterson is to sit behind bars for years... AT OUR EXPENSE - you American's know that you pay out the ass for these twats to sit in jail and live long healthy lives...
... and those of you who want torture - there is no 'cruel or unusual punishment' in the U.S.
How does one justify what's 'cruel' or 'unusual' for someone as murderous as Mr. Peterson?

nothing wrong with the death penalty for violent offenders IMO. why should innocent taxpayers pay million$ to keep this guy alive?
Death Penalty gets him off the street just the same as life imprisonment, minus millions and millions in expenses.

i dunno dobs, seems like there is as much money spent on death row with court time/appeals etc. and i can only imagine the amount of paperwork/bureaucracy involved in executing someone

I'm wit u dobs. But i say take it further and extend the death penalty to other crimes. Instead of locking an em, put crooks to death.

maybe i'm naive... but it seems there's more to learn from these people. what if we focused the same attention and effort into rehabilitating and studying them, that we do if killing them off.
it seems to me that we gain nothing from these deaths. it's just ignoring a problem. Simply hoping we solve the problem by making thousands of examples seems a bit ridiculous... not only ideologically, but in the actual results.

here's a theory on "rehabilitation"
say it was normal for us adults to have sexual relations with children, but you felt like other adults were what you wanted, and you had the same feelings about this issue as you do in this society (ie sex with children is wrong" do you think someone could "rehabilitate" you into wanting sex with children? now reverse that.
i am a firm believer in locking up killers, pedofiles, rapists etc up forever, until they die (in whichever means death is legal i guess)

How can you punish a murderer. Torturiing them for the rest of their life is cruel and unjust. Killing them is too easy, and a term in jail seems like it has lost it's pith. Is there a way of conditioning them to not think those thoughts ever again perhaps with drugs and video footage we could pop them in a chair and keep there eye balls open while we show them the reels. 'Show us your yarbles'

oh and what is there to study? obviously there is something genetically wrong with them, coupled with maybe an aweful childhood, some bad experiences, growing up in a bad area...
and if we did find out what was wrong, do you think we could provent it? this is getting all tom cruiz in a hollywood movie now! :O
